Never read that in fact most media and political people were saying it will go right up to the deadline.

https://www.conservatives.com/our-plan/introduction-from-boris-johnson - a nice bit on the conservative website there about the deal being oven ready

you think they'd amend this 'Above all, we Conservatives will respect the democratic will of the people. After three and a half years of procrastination, we have a great new deal that is ready to go – so that we will finally be out of the EU by January 31.'

I can get more but I need to go to uni soon

You could be right, unless we walk away then it will definitely go to the deadline and possibly passed, David Davis speaking today saying that might be the case but only to rubber stamp everything off, it will not drag on as it did now the brexiteers hold the reigns.

No mate I thought it was going to be a shit show right from the beginning, my point is that the brexit lobby went out of their way to tell everyone how easy this was going to be, which is why I disagree with your comment saying brexiteers were always ready for a bumpy ride

Edit - Uni was great today as well!

And the remain campaign said it was always going to be a complete failure, extreme views because that's what happens in politics either side of the bench.

I actually do think this will turn out to be a complete failure if I'm being honest, it's just a question of how bad it has to get before people realise this

The EU president has said the deal could be signed now in a speech today, They would prefer further details to be ironed out but a deal could be signed

It was never going to be easy we saw that with the so called deal that Theresa May brought back, the vast majority of the opposition Labour, Lib/Dems, Greens, SNP etc were obviously going to try every which way to derail every effort May tried, not sure how intelligent people could get the mood of the electorate so wrong.

We kept hearing them quote we have spoken to our constituents and they are changing their minds now they know the truth (their interpretation of truth) boy did they get that wrong, and fell for a general election with a manifesto most people saw right through, one party calling themselves democrats actually saying they did not accept the referendum result just how daft can MPs get, Jo Swinson lost her seat with regards that idiotic comment. where as the Tories offered the only way forward for the leave voters, and offered to get the job done.

A good article here suggesting the reworded Withdrawal Agreement is not as big a deal as what many are suggesting, the last paragraph summing the situation up.

"First, there is no actual means by which an ECJ judgment can be enforced against a sovereign state which defies it. Secondly, there are credible international law arguments that the UK’s obligations under the WA and its Protocol as a whole - including the egregious and one-sided ECJ jurisdiction clauses - have been vitiated by the EU’s bad faith behavior over the course of the negotiations.

Glad Uni was great I was never interested in further education just wanted to get out into the big old world and earn my keep, it was always going to be a manual job.

people just want this crap over with myself included, I dont think it was a ringing endorsement for brexit more that people are sick of this being the dominant issue in the country when we have so many other problems to face, especially now. I take it that means people like Liam Fox were lying then when they said it would be easy. I am glad Swinson lost her seat though, she did as much to feck it up for Labour as much as anyone by further splitting the remain leaning/liberal vote and deluding herself into thinking she could be PM.

I think we're going to be in for a long and costly legal battle with this that we probably won't win. We are the bad faith actors here and not the EU, who are just insisting we keep to an agreement that was signed in good faith. We're the ones trying to wriggle out of it because it's just dawned on Boris what it is he actually signed up for. Again, more money time and effort that could be better spent dealing with the pandemic for example.

I worked in several factories and warehouses before I decided to go to Uni cos I didn't feel like my life was going anywhere just grafting for other people all the time. Turned out to be a great decision until the pandemic haha

If Brexit causes things like a rise in living costs I may no longer be able to afford to live down here and complete my degree so I have a fair reason for being pessimistic

There may be a major concession by the EU to get a solution, The EU said nothing is agreed until everything is agreed, It may well be they drop this and agree a trade deal while still having one or two outstanding issues to be agreed, This would favour the EU as trade would continue but would take the time pressure off them the UK is taking advantage of to pressure the EU to accept our deal

    https://www.cityam.com/brexit-boris-johnson-turns-down-eu-offer-to-restart-trade-talks/

Boris Johnson has knocked back the EU’s offer to restart Brexit trade talks, saying the olive branch from Brussels did not provide a “basis to resume talks”

“However, the UK continues to believe there is no basis to resume talks unless there is a fundamental change of approach from the EU.

Gove also said that there was no point negotiating unless Brussels made key concessions on fisheries policies and state aid.

Crunch time by the looks of it.

If we end up with no deal then the existing fishing rights end and all fishing rights return to the Uk, The French fishermen will go ballistic with their own government and may bring about fishing wars reminiscent of the cod wars, The French and Spanish will do everything they can to not let this happen it is political suicide for them.

When you are forced to chat bollox because you don't want to admit no deal and get caught out with the smoke and mirrors.

Just to lighten the mood a bit.

Take a close look at Goves face. PMSL and the Nigel Farage translation app bit. Genius.
