Time will tell I suppose but most of the season you'll only see him once or twice in a game and then he just drifts, not really contributing.

Compare him to Walker, who when not doing much from an attacking sense is still noticeable from his work rate and harassing. That what Odour needs.

 

Apart from his misses I thought he had a decent game, football eh.

 

Well I was surprised with Alexander's starting 11 and to be honest I was still disappointed after he explained why he made that starting line up after the game.
I get it McDonald can't do several games on the trot but I'd have started him and looked at the situation at half time, Alexander was saying it would be ball into the box as fast as possible, but for me after that display on Tuesday night I was more concerned playing the likes of Stubbs restricted our ability to get at Sutton, I don't want our manager changing formations because of the opposition let them worry about us, having said that a good 3 points in the bag.

 

Yes he admitted he was having mental problem at the start of the season and I believe he mentioned the Barnsley situation.

 

My point is at the start of the season we have to outperform 17 other teams to reach the playoffs.
With 13 games to go we now only have to outperform half that number and we have found some form at the right time where others are faltering

Yeah I don’t think he’ll ever replicate that to the extent Walker does.

 

The weight on that pass from Oduor was perfect. One or 2 of those every game would be very welcome

He’s been good the last 2 games and I never thought I’d be saying that. Had a hand most/all of the goals against MK and was instrumental in all our chances yesterday

Odour is improving every game he plays, Our main worry is Tomkinson continually passing to the opposition when in possession, Giving the ball away so easily puts the team on the defensive

 

His worst game yesterday tbh.

 

Not sure whether it's already been mentioned, but the most inspiring moment of yesterday's game was Filipe Morais at HT. He clearly became emotional talking about Darbs, it was very moving. And the depth of feeling that team obviously had for each other goes beyond what you'd call team spirit. A huge kudos to him and Duke, and all the others who've been raising money for a magnificent cause to try and overcome the most horrible illness.

 

Good solid performance against a team, as @Stafford Bantam has excellently pointed out are no mugs. Let's be honest, there are no longer any easy games in L2.

Very good tactics by Alexander. Unlike far too many negative fans, I had no issue with Stubs in midfield as he's a very good footballer, can tackle, is strong and has great postional sense.

Only complaint is that we should have had a hatful and hence then were somewhat lucky that they missed that free header at the end.

 

I get why he did it. There's a risk with him starting and if that risk happens, then we've lost him for some very big games coming up in the next few weeks.

Losing points yesterday would have been frustrating - but if it meant we beat Barrow and Notts County, then I got the logic.

Plus there was never any reason why Stubbs at L2 can't play in midfield. His ball distribution is superb and he has excellent postional sense.

 

Yes, Grimsby seem determined to replace one of the bottom two.

 

Makes you realise that it was quite a tricky finish. Keeper stayed up too which shut down every other option so it was a really smart finish.

 

As it turned out Alexander got it right, but not sure with regards your Stubbs comment early in the first half Odour made a break played a simple ball to Stubbs who instead of looking for Odours run took the easy option of playing it square the Sutton players pushed up and the ball went backwards, but its all about points on the board at this time of the season, and I accept at times you have to put aside the performance to gain the points.

 

I can understand too, but its odd that Stubbs himself didn't know until yesterday. So clearly not something they'd worked on in training, which I find surprising.

 

he was excellent on the first game of the season then picked up an injury and struggled when he came back. He is very lightweight physically and he was almost out on his feet at the end of the game but he can score and assist and looking more and more like a good signing
