Certainly the best team we have seen play at the VP this season. We had our moments, but they did as well, they looked a stronger outfit tbh. I thought we played really well at times and if there hadn’t been so much on the game enjoyable. I actually thought they settled for a point 20 minutes out.
Different mentality required for the playoffs, you just have to win the next game. I don’t care who we play, who knows we might just come up with our three best performances.
Halliday was outstanding today, and I was so pleased he scored deflected or not. He has been so consistent.Rudie, Inspector, Get Rid Of It and 11 others like this. -

Imagine the meltdown had we pushed for a second and conceded. We certainly learned a lesson from Wednesday night. Orient were a class above and you felt could've stepped it up at will. Carlisle are in terrible form and hopefully we'll have enough in the bag for the second leg. If we make it to Wembley, the possession based game will actually suit us, as no team will be able to press for 90 minutes on that pitch.

Job done. Wasn't pretty and you can see why they are the best team in the division. Exploited our statuesque midfield time and again and would probably have won at a canter had they something to play for. That said, we had good chances ourselves, weak finishing preventing a less nervy afternoon. Hughes has achieved the first objective, if we fail from here it's clear where our weaknesses lie. That midfield needs serious work on it wether we go up or not.

Nice gesture from him during the 56th minute applause, he seemed to deliberately hang on to the ball for a long time so that the ball wasn't in play much during the 56th minute
Cracking calm keeper too -

Carlisle like playing us and it’s like they local game for them. Ex Bradford players in their squad that will want to prove a point.
I’m confident we will beat them over 2 legs but it won’t be easy.
Rather play them than Stockport. Save them or Salford for the final.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
Normal service has been resumed (well, sort of!) with The Voice's original post now having been recreated. Thanks to TV for this. Unfortunately, it hasn't been possible to recreate the other pages of the original thread and to repost those particular posts. Apologies to all for that.
For those few who may be concerned, this has had no impact on your Loyalty Points balance -

I'm sure our budget is in the top 3 or 4 but maybe we've just spent it better this time?
I've really enjoyed the season. Huge progress on and off the field.
No, not a failure in my eyes, whatever happens tomorrow. The club's moved forward.MallorcaBantam, Rudie, Ollylondonbantam and 6 others like this. -

Performance not great today but we got over the line. What I thought was most interesting was the makeup of Orient's midfield - absolutely perfect skill set and blend for the football they want to play and the football I'm sure Hughes had in mind for us. Gilliead and Smallwood have their plus points and have played well recently but they can't manipulate the ball in tight areas and progress it forwards with pace which is why we've often struggled to play like that this season. Absolutely have to sort out that position in the summer.

No point in saying we have to win it, no amount of saying it will make it happen. If we don’t go up I don’t think the season is a complete failure, we can use this season as a squad builder. Everyone will need to learn and fast. It has been much better than last season.

Job done in the end. As many of us have said, performances don’t really matter at this time - it’s results. Would have been interesting how the game panned out had that early Crichlow chance converted.
Thought Clayton quality and more so experience showed in a game which we very much needed it. Bravo Halliday for taking on the chance, despite the deflection. HT 0-1 down would have been a different scenario - hugely important goal.
Crewe was tough to swallow. Bravo to Hughes and the squad for brushing ourselves down and doing what was needed today.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Craven Koppite, Peaks Bantam, WilsdenBantam and 5 others like this. -
