Foulds was unlucky to lose his place in the team when he did. I would welcome him back as cover for the last three games (hopefully) Songo’o as well

Halliday had a good strike today helped by a deflection but one swallow a summer does not make. He is slow and teams play on him hence the goals at Crewe were down to him and others through the season were from his side where he could not keep up

Can’t agree with the first point, the second isn’t quite right. The management PERMITTED him to leave, he couldn’t just walk away from a contract. Whether he wanted to leave is irrelevant in context of contracts.

 

Permitted because he wanted it Hughes said he would have preferred him to stay

 

That I am afraid is management speak or spin. However I always let an unhappy member of staff leave/ move, even though they were contracted. If I played hard ball they had to stay because they would be in breach of contract. I never did but it was always a tool in the box.

 

Just because you think he has been our 3rd best player this season doesn't mean he can't be improved upon.
