The Voice - Match preview Bradford City vs Leyton Orient Monday 8th May @ 12.30pm

Performance not great today but we got over the line. What I thought was most interesting was the makeup of Orient's midfield - absolutely perfect skill set and blend for the football they want to play and the football I'm sure Hughes had in mind for us. Gilliead and Smallwood have their plus points and have played well recently but they can't manipulate the ball in tight areas and progress it forwards with pace which is why we've often struggled to play like that this season. Absolutely have to sort out that position in the summer.

 

Wellens in post match admitted its been hard keeping the players motivated in the last two weeks since they knew had gained promotion. And thats where we ultimately had the advantage over Mansfield in the last game of the season.

 

Someone better tell their players because they were trying their level best to hit the net between the 46 minute mark until 10 mins before the final whistle. Lewis pulled off three very very good saves in that period and their keeper at least two from us. They came to win, that I have no doubt , other than the last 10 mins I grant you RT.

 

I recall Moncur playing for Colchester at their place I think , and he was damn good that day. He was only a young lad then but he was class above the level. Imagine if we got him and Smallwood together. They both played at Hull at the same time from memory?

 

Had to laugh someone on Facebook playing hell with the club about communications because he turned up for the match at 3pm

I remember that happening in The Doc days' one New Years Day (Bury I think and a 3.1 win). We bumped into some associates on the way back as they were on their way there, only to tell them we had won. Not only were they gutted we had won, but it was our first league win in a month and we had played well for a change.
