The loan signings apart from Banks occasionally have been very poor. Giving Derbyshire 18 months and Oliver 3 years is criminal. Where is the lad from Hartlepool? Chapman has been largely crap all season. I think the only player I’ve genuinely been happy with is Stubbs. We have an over inflated squad with not much quality and who can’t do what is being asked of them by the manager. I’m so pissed off that we now have to pretty much win our last 3 games to ensure we stay in the playoffs. Two of those teams are 1st and 2nd. It’s just not good enough.Ponty City, simons (woking bantam), Craven Koppite and 12 others like this. -
If we don't at least get into a play off spot (and we all know its the best team on the day) and are still in this league with Mark Hughes at the helm playing the same sort of nonsense football at Valley Parade I can forget about loyalty points for home games not sure I can stomach another season of having a very good squad being held back by Hughes way of playing, playing it out from the back first half was embarrassing to say the least so much so that the defender is telling Lewis to play it short and Lewis obviously concerned that it was getting us nowhere wanted to welly it.

I hope the club investigate it further and make it publicly the punishment.
Hughes and the players have a lot of reflecting and improving to do if we don’t go up this season, but so do some of the fans. The behaviour at times is absolutely shocking and an embarrassment to the club.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Disappointed about this week as no doubt we all are, I now fear for our playoff place never mind the autos, but should the unthinkable happen and we miss out on the playoffs or lose in the playoffs I for one won't be throwing toys out of the pram by calling for MH to be sacked, end of the day however horrible and frustrating it is still progress and hopefully MH learns from his mistakes from this season and kicks on a level next season.

I would have gone a little further and had the next 2 games on sale as 2 for a tenner .

Can't bloody throw away an entire half playing clown football and giving goals away.
I'm so annoyed with this team. They're so much better than that.

The season is over the inquest needs to begin on Hughes, his style, the appalling home form, the curious signings and contracts, awful tactics and how we change to be more like Orient. Does Hughes have the passion, energy and skills required? Will Rupp fund the player changes needed? Will sufficient ST holders re sign for another year?? Big questions. Yes I know we have three games left. Not expecting much from them and none play off final placing.

A completely bollock-less half and it sums up everything thats been wrong with our home form all season. Its on Hughes.
I admire the intent to try and ‘play football’, but I’ve said since the first month of the season, we should make a simple tweak that doesn’t have to negate the overall style - stop the passing out goalkicks. They’re nonsensical. The only thing they achieve is inviting pressure from the opposition and its been clear all season that it creates more problems than anything positive it offers. Its madness. You can’t take ‘playing out’ to the same extremes that the very best sides in the country do when you’re a 4th division side. Not only that, but it creates this sense of nervousness and lack of patience from the crowd which then impacts the performance as a whole. If we just went long on goal kicks but changed nothing else, I’m convinced we’d see the benefit. I do not understand it.
But the lack of ‘balls’, quite frankly is a worry. IF we manage to sneak the playoffs, how the hell are they going to cope.

As I said earlier in the thread, nothing in this match should surprise us because what we saw is what we've seen all season;
- one half of pretty poor football
- reliance on Cook for goals
- trying to sit on a goal lead and retreating backwards
- trying to hold onto a game with the same two tired central midfielders who started the game
Clayton's injury has hurt us because Hughes clearly doesn't trust East. We needed fresh legs in the middle to counter their subs. We're back to where we were before Christmas with the team really.
Sorry folks but that game is just the same as many others we've seen and time and again we've shown we're not consistent enough even in a match to be certain of a win.

A draw a fair result in the end. We just lack dynamism around the park, everything is so laboured when we attack and the last few games our normally solid defence has looked pretty shaky. First half today has to rank as bad as anything I've seen all season and shows how poor we are when any team high presses us. As for trying to pass out from the keeper when the press is on, you need high quality players for that, can't believe we kept trying it especially when we have nothing in the middle of the park to receive it. Thought Banks had a good game today but final ball was poor and Halliday showed up well second half. Lewis was as nervy as seen but did pull out some decent saves and Cook again showed without his goals we have little else in attack. The rest were poor to average, the midfield back to the days of being slow and problematic.
Onwards to next Saturday now but we look like a team hitting poor form at the wrong time.tommycairns28, Budgie, WIBSEY GAWBER and 6 others like this. -

I haven’t felt as dejected all season as I did leaving the ground today. Extremely painful throwing it away in the 97th minute.
However, let's not get carried away and say our season is over. We're still occupying a play-off position with 3 matches to play, and a play-off position is in our own hands.XCIV_Bantam, Bantam75, Salty and 6 others like this. -

Wherever we finish this season, the person in the spotlight should be Hughes. It's his squad, his team selection, his coaching, his tactics, his formations, his squad preparation etc etc all of which have a direct bearing on where and how we finish the season. If we finish in one of the auto spots, great; he should be rightly lauded. If we are playing next season in the same league, it's his approach which should be challenged.Ponty City, Jayteebee, Kevin1954 and 6 others like this. -

I buy away tickets for at least 7 or 8 of us so that's either another £10+ on top of my tickets or the embarrassing moment of having to ask my brother or daughters boyfriend for an extra £1.50.
I get we need a sales fee but why not £1.50 per transaction rather that ticket? -

10 points dropped in injury time so far this season is nothing shot of a disgrace. In a league where timewasting and game management is the usp, we are comfortably the worst at it.
