I think we are lucky to even take a point from that. Our first was comical really with their goalkeeper basically letting it in. Lewis kept the score at 2-1 but they deserved their equaliser and could have easily gone in at HT 2 or 3 up. Massive improvement required.
The worry for me is that we aren’t a very good team. We don’t play outstanding football and we rarely give anyone a good hiding. We are hard to beat and Cooks goals have been invaluable. I think a team like Mansfield beat us without many problems when the chips are down and especially over two legs.

 

Sorry lads - season over. Play off hopes completely gone now. We can only get 3 points from the next 3 games, not enough in my opinion. Unless, UNLESS, we take 3 from champions Leyton Orient and top 3 guaranteed Northampton. Just my opinion but Swindon and the Gills were our certain 6 points. Only have themselves to blame.

 

I’ll explain why I thought we will finish 8th at the end of season but this post is one close to one of the reasons why.

I think I would prefer to play Northampton over a mid table side, all this rubbish about these teams being on the beach is nonsense.

Yes, we have a game in hand over Salford but if we lose to Northampton and they beat Carlisle then that’s cancelled.

The first half was a joke. We were lucky not to be 2 nil down.

Second half was better but it’s still all Cook or nothing for us? Lewis made some class saves but at 2-1 up I have to question the subs we made.

Hughes wants us to play like a premier league side playing it out from the back/keeping possessions in our own half even the players realised 1st half they couldn't do it
