I do hope I'm wrong mate but not sure on todays showing we can get enough point from 3 awkward games to get a play off place, I'm gutted to draw in the way we did although it could have been over as a competition at half time, Gillingham bought well in January and it showed today a very useful side on the ball with loads of off the ball movement giving their players option going forward, just how we should be performing at Valley Parade.
Even the likes of Manchester United can fall foul of playing out from the back why does Hughes believe we are good enough and persist even as you say a team plays the high press game, we were very poor with regards winning second balls and I was more than surprised when Nevers came out for the second half then showing a bit of quality with his ball to Ridehalgh for the cross for Cook to equalise.
I can see Gillingham being a very strong contenders next season with new American owner Brad Galinson backing the manager with transfer funds.

 

Well when you are a self sufficient club not relying on funds from the owner, I would expect we will have significant losses again this season.

You can't keep losing money season after season, before you are tightening budgets hoping for cup runs income.

I haven’t felt as dejected all season as I did leaving the ground today. Extremely painful throwing it away in the 97th minute.

However, let's not get carried away and say our season is over. We're still occupying a play-off position with 3 matches to play, and a play-off position is in our own hands.

 

For me the budget doesn’t actually have to go up, reduce the squad but go for quality over quantity. But I feel like fans have been saying this since 2018.

Autos are dead in the water and it’s between us and Salford for 7th place and they are favourites the way they are snatching late victories.

Not his greatest day today but his season saves any criticism as he has been superb. Big career ahead of him. Not many in this squad can say the same. Got what we deserved today but wasn’t due to any lack of effort, just not at it unfortunately.

 

Did say to you before Kev, i never said the teams will be at the beach, just that they could be at the beach. Much like Leyton orient were on Tuesday.. Clearly gillingham did not get the memo! Hopefully Crewe go off to the beach when we play them!

 

Next two games are away-look at our away form. Still very much in the mix. IF we don't go up we are the sole architects of our downfall-no spin from me.

 

We’ve had minimal cup runs since 2015, Rupp gets a lot of stick but we usually have a decent budget. The previous owners didn’t have the funds unless we had a cup run and would be selling our better players by now.

 

We all see things differently but I said weeks ago if we didn't get an auto spot, we wouldn't go up and nothing I've seen then since then has changed my mind. We might still end up with a play off spot but even if we do and we get through to Wembley, I only see one outcome and that's the same one as if we finish outside the top 7. It's league 2 again next season, I don't see any other outcome.

Nothing would make me happier than to be proved wrong and to look like a total idiot by the end of May, but sadly, I don't see that happening.
