I agree with all of that. I just don't see the logic that next season's budget will be lower than this.

 

Not blaming the referee for today, our first half performance was as bad as we've seen at Valley Parade this season but I did post this guy puts Drysdale to shame even possibly as you say playing to the crowd with regards the penalty claim, he looked to be wanting to play on then pointed to the spot, another view of it will clear it up.

As was an auto place with 6 games to go, we cant carry on playing 45 minutes as we did today although Gillingham looked a decent side.

The team completely bottled it and reverted to the pre Christmas performances. We never got to grips with central midfield 1st half, we predictably attack down the right, we’re too slow to attack, Lewis and the whole back 4 have lost confidence and just seem to panic. If Hughes picks that starting 11 again we can forget it. For a team going for the autos we were miles off it. Northampton, Salford and Mansfield seem to know how to win, I’m worried for the playoffs. Northampton with 9 first teamers out are still winning so it will be very tough,

Since January Gills have a promotion level of points per game. Speaking to them today, they came full of confidence for a win and are fully expecting automatic promotion next season even though they expect us up by the playoffs

 

I honestly thought Hughes would start Derbyshire today and was surprised to see the kids Nevers starting but said to the grandson he can now show us what he's capable of, I was even more surprised he started the second half.

They had nothing to lose and played some good stuff first half, at times looking the team that were going for promotion, very disappointing to not get all 3 points after a good second half fight back, but Gillingham looked very dangerous at corners hitting the (G) spot most of the time .

 

Well, today showed all the emotions of football. It can drag you in and spit you out. Haven't felt this deflated since being relegated but then thats the highs and lows that this game can give you. The body language of the players said it all, its gonna take all of Hughes experience to get them back up for next week, especially against a team that basically needs one win from its remaining games to go up.
