We soft by tomorrow 3pm but let’s call it off 24 hours early. Feck me I’m sick of this shit.

Thawing quickly now, pitch won't be playable at 1.30. today. Why not have an inspection at 10.30 A.M. in the morning after the thawing? no inspect it when it's bound to fail because they know the bloody pitch won't stand up for two games.

Correct. It's always a difficult call, do you go early and give plenty of notice or hope things will improve. Some will say the latter, but there has to be an element of protecting the pitch involved and a rapid thaw, especially due to rain, then played on could cause untold damage. I won't lose any sleep if we lose this match to the weather.

 

It depends how deep the frost is, if it's in deep then it will probably need more than 24 hours of 4 or 5 degrees.

What this shows is what we all know, no matter what the club and officials do there will always be some people to moan and they can't win. If it is unplayable now and they don't think it will thaw in time then people can plan what to do tomorrow rather than sitting around waiting, staff who are due to work know what is happening and the caterers don't waste a load of food. It also means both sides can have a training session tomorrow rather than Doncaster wasting a day.

 

If our home form was anything like we would have a good chance of climbing the table with 11 of the remaining nineteen matches at home

 

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. This is one area the club will never be able to please everyone on. Still, it will please my friend's 6 year old granddaughter who would have been left with her granny, and recently commented "grandad needs to understand that there is more to life than football"....................... wonder who she had heard saying that !!
