I agree Chapman was man of the match by some distance, but come on, Platt was not awful, our most consistent defender so far this season played well again yesterday

 

He did. Must have been feeling a bit cold though, judging by the post match interview he did in his big coat.

I thought AFCW were a good team. Great technical ability from their front lads, who combined well with the fullbacks. In this match, way better than us. Chapman the only one to provide any sort of creativity, but more often than not he runs into a dead end, or his ball across the box goes unfinished. He also looks knackered with twenty mins to go. I don’t think this draw was a bad one, we’d have not equalised in seasons gone by. We should however, kill teams off after taking the lead so early on.

 

I think we needed to mix up the dead ball kicks. I’m struggling to remember any time during the match where we were able to work through the thirds, instead opting to go long after 3 passes, something the Wimbledon fans picked up on.

Anybody else think the game plan is deliberate.

It feels like we are trying 'rope a dope'. Score early, let the other team come on to us, demoralise them and get a second 2nd half. If they equalise have confidence in the subs to get a second.

It worked against Stevenage but we messed up yesterday on account of Wimbledon being a better side than predicted leading to their equaliser and second.

 

Totally agree, what I found disappointing was after our good start where we could have been 3-0 up most could see Wimbledon getting more into the game as I posted at the time we needed another goal anyone could see the game getting away from us yet Sparkie didn't change things.
Cook was getting nothing from their CDs and as we know if Cooks not getting involved others don't step up it was no suprise when Wimbledon equalised and then went ahead but fair does Sparkie changed things and we equalised.
We have to play Cook because of his goal scoring attributes let's hope Oliver's goal gives the lad a confidence boost, he took his chance with a great header holding off the CD something Cook hadn't done all the game.
Looking at this video we were poor with regards their set piece, if you watch our defensive wall they don't jump for Chislett free kick.

Exactly, Wimbledon didn't turn up until half an hour in, we should have been out of sight..

 

Yeah but with almost any job you could actually do that and nobody would ever know.

It's only football fans that are so fanatical they look at what family members might be saying, which is weird in itself.

One of our major weakness yesterday stemmed from right fullback. There did seem a lack of support to Banks yesterday. He was oft left up against two defenders when cutting inside. Halliday bombs down the outside to take one of the markers. I don’t believe Hendrie did that, Foulds did which gave us far better penetration on the left . Dion , other than the header in the first half was also ineffective and rarely troubled their defence. A point is better than nothing, however we didn’t deserve a great deal tbh.
Their centre back going off injured early on was a saving grace for Wimbledon….his replacement was far better! The injured player was all over the place to begin with and that’s why we were far more effective early doors.

We have taken four undeserved points from Wallsall and Wimbledon unless we mix it up a bit and change tactics to suit the opposition we will drop more. When we are allowed to play our football we look a good side when we are closed down and pressed we don’t

 

I think Wimbledon shot themselves in the foot yesterday once they went ahead. If they had carried on playing as they did up to the second goal they would have won the game.

Instead they all got head injuries, cramp or forgot where to take free kicks and throw ins from.

It's a part of todays game that needs eradicating as the fans pay to see a game of football not applications for RADA.

The only thing the ref did right yesterday was add on the 6 minutes.
