Agree I don't think Cook can be accused of being a lazy player he does his share of closing down, defending free kicks etc although I did post late in the first half on Tuesday night I was disappointed with his all round game.

 

This ain't Premier League football Sunnybank, where the top strikers give you goals and plenty more around the pitch. We're in League Two where a striker who can actually score goals is gold dust. Cooke has done that for us with great regularity over three seasons which is rare at this level.

If you want to play a 5-3-2 or a 5-2-3 or whatever the feck we deployed on tuesday, you need the following things :

Two out an out wing backs, who provide width. They need to be athletic, good on the ball, willing to get up an down the pitch whenever required. GA is gonna take shit from this because hes deployed Ridehalgh there for a month an have a guess whats happened? we havent won a game. I dont give a shit what Odour sees himself as, I see him as a fraud. Stick him at LWB or put Gilli there if you have to.

CBs. If were playing with a high line, its okay to have CBs that arent fast but you cant have CBs that are bleeding slow, and Taylor an Stubbs happen to be exactly that. Play Stubbs in the middle, Tomkinson on the right, Kelly on the left. Get rid of Taylor. Platt can sit on the bench or be sold

The midfield. You need an 8 who can play a forward pass or shoot. Gilli doesnt do that. An Smallwood is limited with his mobility. Also his set pieces are dog shit

The attack. Two players that are comfortable playing off a big man (Cook). Wright lacked match fitness but once hes up to speed, he’l look half decent. Odour on the other hand was fecking useless. Runs around like the wandering jew an does jack shit

As much as Rupp an Sparks piss me off, GA deserves his fair share of blame too. Shit tactics and an equally worse selection week in week out

 

Cook is the least of our problems at the minute.
