That was a loan during the pandemic right? We have moved on from that era.

I have to agree. I don't think the contract has made a difference and find it amusing when fans think it will be such a motivator.

I'm not bothered how he gets us out of this league to be honest, but getting us out has to be everyone concerned with Bradford City football Club priority.

Cook for me is a luxury. But is he a luxury we can afford?

Last night and for the last few home games he's been nothing more than a passenger. An unhappy passenger at that. We effectively played with 10 men and hoped a ball in would hit him. Because he certainly doesn't try and make a run or get onto things.

It's great when he's scoring, but when he's not he doesn't really add much. What's to say another striker wouldn't come in and score AND contribute elsewhere?

He may score and get assists, but his assists feel more like they bounce off him than he sets them up.

1 goal at home all season for him. And that was a pen....

Yes it is but there will be repercussions. We have seen teams from the NL teams overtake us. We are now seeing fans who won’t renew ST. As you say his decision, but in my view he will watch his investment whither on the vine.

That was to cover Rahics nonsense and to keep his investment safe. In my view he should have carried that expense rather than saddling the club with extra debt.

I believe that figure was due to the pandemic. Hardly a hero, 91 other clubs owners and countless business men and women will have had to invest money into their businesses to keep them afloat. Spend 1.7 mil now to keep and asset you value at 10 mil afloat? No brainer. I’m sure the McBurnie money will have gone to repaying him, or to put it another way I doubt the McBurnie went into on or off field investments, same with that 1.7 million.

Yes I agree, hence the “ discussions” some in the club need to have with him.

got zero service last night - usually the case.

the suggestion his assists just bounce off him is daft. Give him credit ffs.

Just to be clear, the loan which Rupp provided was to address the financial chaos created by his former business partner. It pre-dates Covid. As of the last published accounts, the entire loan from Rupp is still outstanding. Nothing has been repaid.

It was down to a couple of City fans who had spotted what was happening and approached Rupp with their concerns. In fairness to him, he acted quickly to shore up the club's financials, arguably to protect his own investment. Why hadn't he seen this already? In part, it reflects a very trusting approach on Rupp's part towards his business partner, in part a level of naivety and in part Rupp's own laissez-faire towards his investment. Although the club's owner were Rupp and Rahic, most of Rahic's 'investment' in buying the club was funded by one of Rupp's investment companies. It was Rupp's own decision to enable Rahic to run the club in the way he, Rahic, wanted to. It was Rupp who ultimately paid for Rahic's mistakes. In a sense, Rupp should look to himself for what happened imo.

    Recently... It feels like it.

Zero service maybe, but why should he just stand still and wait? Come on... do you think a top striker just stands and waits for a delivery? Cook's in a role where he needs to press, create and score. At the minute he's not doing most of that.

    Brilliant.

Smallwood, Ridehalgh, Taylor and Odour in that team last night but our top goalscorer is the one you pick out as a "passenger" and a "luxury we can't afford"?

He may score but, but, but .....
He may get assists but, but, but ......

Last time I looked, goals and assists are what we're looking for from forward players and they count just as much even if they apparently only "bounce off him".

I mean, there's some clueless posts about but this is right up there.

You're joking? Here we go with Taylor again. Who didn't do much wrong last night.

I never said there weren't other shite performances... but Cook's was particularly shite and he irks people by moaning when the ball doesn't land at his feet. One day you'll see through your rose tinted glasses for what he is AT THE MINUTE and that's a passenger.

If we had a capable backup he would be dropped.

He's not scoring or getting assists at the minute. It's like you can't see what's in front of you.

My point is, swap him out for another striker and see what happens... IF we had one. Which we don't.

Tnx for clarifying, I originally thought it was the outset of the pandemic and zero ticket income that would follow? Must have been months earlier as you say.

Describing us as playing with 10 because Cook was off it yet failing to describe us as playing with 9 or 8 or 7 because Odour, Ridehalgh,Smallwood etc are completely anonymous seems a bit disingenuous as well.
I get Cook had a stinker but let’s not ignore the majority of the players around him who were equally woeful.

Everyone was woeful last night. Maybe Halliday and Stubbs for his battling and barking at the team to try and get them going get a pass but that's about it.

    I agree. They all were.

But Cook's issue is he doesn't look interested and moans. Pisses people off, I won't be the only one.

Look when he's firing he's amazing at this level. But when he's not, we notice it more.
