It was over before tonight Bumble.

None of my family, friends or myself could be bothered going tonight.

Awful team, awful season. End of season cannot come soon enough.

This feels like the times under Peter Taylor and Peter Jackson.

Going into February with only 4 home wins is shocking.

    Rupp out
    Sparks out
    Gent out

So while everyone is upset over a bit of rain, I’m at my granddaughter’s Christmas dance recital in Clarksville and we’ve all been evacuated to the basement due to tornadoes! Nowt like Fagley this America.

Can't believe I'm reading folk criticising the club about the postponement lol. It's been a ridiculously wet December so far.

A manager sacked by clubs for poor football and then hired by Sparks produces dire football. Surprise surprise

Are fans really surprised? Its been clear for a long time the owner couldn't care less and that stench permeates the whole ground, from the chairmans office to the players on the pitch. I made the decision to stay at home and watch which gave me the opportunity to switch to other games, something i would never have done usually.
At this moment if i didn't renew i don't think i'd miss it.

I'm on my way back to East Yorkshire after another thoroughly depressing night at VP. I've been doing this for 40 years, variously from London, Manchester and the Midlands along the way. I'll never stop supporting the club I was born with through my dad and grandad, but damn! Don't it remain hard. I'm almost on giving up. I know I never will but hey, we\re shit. Have been for ages. Have been for ages.No idea what the answer is, but neither have Rupp, Sparks or Gent. Doesn't really matter who the ever-rotating manager/coach set up is. There is no plan, there is no clever advancement idea to throw us on into a better place. Shit show as ever

    That was dreadful tonight.

    3 points out of 15.

Now, I am not saying GA should go but it’s not good enough. The football is boring. GA seems like a Sparks yes man. He had no clue where to play Wright tonight. Wright looked like a Sunday league player because of it.

Cook looked lost, Smallwood should never take a free kick again. The central midfield in general barring one run at goal offers nothing. Basically, going into a game with 6 defenders (including the keeper) and it’s no wonder Cook and the front line offer nothing in most games recently.

It’s just a mess from the top down! Simple.

Bradford City fans do nothing also. The soul has gone from the club. Rupp and Sparks have ripped it out!

    Don't be silly.

You could see from his 8am report that the pitch was never going to be playable even if we had 30 degree temperatures on Saturday lunchtime. There was absolutely no need or requirement to confirm it was still unplayable at 3pm and I'm damn sure Mick Doyle only did what he did because he was fed up with people like you questioning his groundsman skills.

Leave the decision on if a match goes ahead to the people who actually have a scooby do.

Firstly, nice to see some commonsense comments from you, the General and others, realism as opposed to the tripe posted by Steve C earlier. Firstly the type of cover you highlight is little or no different to the covers we have, except your example is a roller rather than a drag on and secure system. There remains the issue of water disposal.
In terms of today, can I go back to Tuesday's game. Against the background of sub-zero temperatures then heavy rain I contacted Mick Doyle at 8.00 a.m. that day to check prospects. He had been at VP for 2 hours at that time and was about to remove the last 2 covers, all of which was taking longer as there were masses of water to deal with. If you or anyone elase was there Tuesday night you would have seen a pretty pristine pitch which played very well, commented on by the Liverpool people.
Since then we have had major rainfall on sodden ground, this morning and yesterday many minor roads are impassable in the villages near me, the ground can only take so much, example FGR on the top of a hill with slopes away on all sides, match off. Mansfield with their second game in a few weeks, off.
Somebody on here questioned if the covers were actually on!!, what?, of course but there was a massive amount of water. We have some good modern covers, ex Man City, we have a pitch which over last season and this is a tribute to Mick Doyle, in fact I recall we were awarded third highest marks by Refs last season for L2.
Sad as it is, we would have wanted this game on, I'm sure but factors dictated otherwise. No blame, only nature.

Just read this so late to the party but got to correct some points, however, I note that there are no answers to Silverbantam #189 under this thread to which I would add "..postponed or abandoned since the drainage installation of summer 2018", any takers?
Now to correct Loyal, the pitch is seeded with the same product used widely through sports grounds so no question of 'on the cheap'. Next, soil in the common understanding is not used. The common material throughout football is Fibre sand, usually sourced from the Mansfield area but there are other sources, again, not cheap but acknowledged as best product for the job, including such as Desso / hybrid surfaces through the PL.
As to the drainage installed in the summer of 2018, this was not one man and a shovel as Alan Gilliver in his time. The work was designed and carried out under the supervision of a former STRC boffin, based in Otley but with a reputation from his days at St. Ives that he supervised the preparation, installation and maintenance regimes for every pitch used in the World Cup in Russia in 2018.
In my humble opinion, after the initial bedding in of season 2018/19, the pitch has continually improved from a drainage aspect and the treatment it gets annually. This treatment comprises Korrowing the top surface to remove existing grass and roots, then laying new fibre sand, up to 180 tonnes or so then re-seeding the pitch which has been reformed to levels and the like.
Sorry Loyal, not cheap at all.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion but then we can also critique that opinion. And I've got to say that's right up there with some of the dumbest posts ive seen on here.

He told Parker he had to sack Hughes at the beginning of October because we were 18th in the table, somewhere Bradford City should never be. Yet here we are, three months later and just three points and two places above 18th. If we drop back to 18th, does that mean he has to sack GA as well, or will 18th in the table suddenly be acceptable? He's is such an idiot.

What is annoying me is the absolute bull s we are being fed. As PM said in commentary City fans are not stupid they know what they are looking at. We do and I personally have had enough. It came home to me watching the 98/99 team. Those players would have run through a brick wall for the fans and they made it happen. Yes we had a similar team with Parky but nothing like the 90’s team.

This team are nowhere near. They lack determination and guts to plough on.

Why does Smallwood take free kicks? Why can’t he see that he is absolute rubbish? Why can’t GA tell him to stop it? I never want to see him take a free kick again.

Rupp, Sparks Gent Managers are wasting our money on players who do not fit the Bradford City Profile. Rupp and Rahic have destroyed our club and atm it is difficult to see a way forward.

There is a malaise around the club Dave , made far and away worse since Jan 1st by the will, he won’t he , return of Young. It’s like a boil that needs lancing.

The crowds are diminishing and after last nights display couldn’t even get excited
The manager looks and sounds deflated
The manager , in front of the back five, is trying to make square pegs fit in round holes
The squad , no matter who plays, looks like they couldn’t give one. The body language of 50% of them in games speaks volumes?
I won’t “pick on” individuals other than to suggest Odour wants moving out and fast. Rambling and yes ambling around the pitch like someone bought him a Lego for Xmas instead of a PS5.

The squad GA has inherited , with a couple of minor exceptions is dire to say the least.

The Raynor comments about Rupp during the pregame or half time period need to hit home and fast. Basically get involved or F…off. Strong stuff and not said in those words but that’s how it came across.

Evening all, just logged on to read back on the response to todays postponement, me and lad travelled over from Cliviger and got to M606 roundabout area before getting the games off confirmation, we'd battled through Todmorden and Hebden Bridge on way to grab a couple of mates on route from Bierley, was absolutely gutted at first obviously but nothing you can do about it, we did an about turn and headed up to Forresters my old stomping ground as a kid for a rough and ready burger, pint, watch bit of Liverpool and couple games of pool with lad. Some good results for us elsewhere today so not all bad, I've also seen a few comments of disappointment regarding missing out of playing Salford while they have injury issues which I get, but lets be honest here if we're relying on the 20th placed team in L2 to have injury problems to enable us to beat them then we may aswell just give up.
Roll on next Saturday which looks a tough game but games we should be relishing.

Bit of extra spice for GA with this fixture, hopefully will be a strong reminder to Neville as to why he should never have sacked him.

It’s bloody siling it down again in lower Baildon, and howling wind, so probably the same at VP. TBH, it would have been a pretty miserable sort of game if it had been played.

Just give everyone plenty of notice.

If it looks like a swamp at 4pm then no point in waiting till 6.30pm for a pitch inspection.

People just don't want to be treated like idiots where they see the club pushing ticket sales and ifollow sale all day long to suddenly drop a pitch inspection an hour before kick off.
It's bad PR and pisses everyone off.
