Barrow Away Tickets

Be a lot easier in League 1. Can't imagine there are away allocations <1000.

 

I checked as it wasn't mentioned when tickets went on sale for the game.

 

I won’t be able to get one until Friday (chances are there will be none left by then) but can’t argue with the scheme at all.
Whatever they come up with will disappoint somebody.
The only thing that I hope they get on top of is the issue you raised - hopefully there will be a away of stopping people buying just for the points but not using.

 

Maybe they will liaise with the other club and only issue points if the ticket is used, that way it makes it more risky

 

But how will they know that the ticket has been used by the person who bought it? I can't see how they can do that.

 

They carnt and they won’t . The home club won’t care less about our priority system

 

they can’t but it does increase the risk to the purchaser because they could end up paying for a ticket they can not sell on and getting no points. The only time they would be able to sell it on is if it is a sell out and I can not imagine many of those

 

Why wouldn’t you just buy a ticket from the club and get the points rather than from someone else? Only time it might happen is if it is a sell out and there aren’t usually many of those

 

Exactly, you’re not gonna get anyone buying a Colchester ticket and being able to sell it on.
However, I’d suggest the people who have over 940 points and are eligible for a Barrow ticket will likely be also going to Colchester so in my eyes the scheme is working as designed.
The bigger problem is home fans who don’t attend every game, giving their ST to someone else to use just to get the 20 loyalty points and also robbing the club of £20 matchday sale in the process.

 

TBF the 'loaning' of season tickets has been going on as long as I can remember.
In years gone by I regularly travelled overseas during January/February and would lend my ticket to a mate.
And in the last few seasons I've offered it to mates when there's been a game I couldn't make. Funnily enough though I've never had any takers!?
In regards to the Barrow game; what may happen is fans with enough points buying a ticket then selling it on. If they do, the problem is if it ends up in the hands of our more 'excitable' fans and we see scenes like we had at Hartlepool. If that happens, if the person who bought the ticket can be identified, they should have their loyalty points wiped.

 

Bringing attending home games into it just over complicates it . Should have just awarded 230 points for buying a season ticket then 10 points per game for anyone paying on day

The banding will be narrow due to the number of tickets available. With there being about 600 expect to see narrow bands. When the put say mansfield tickets on sale the banding will probably be much wider as they are effectively opening sales to just over 600 people here. With Mansfield where 2,000 tickets are available I expect the banding to start lower down and be much wider.

 

Not a problem really. The vast majority of those coming on a "borrowed" ticket probably wouldn't have come anyway. I lend mine out when I can't attend and my friend brings his nephew, who he wouldn't bring ordinarily. A bum on a seat with a ticket paid for by someone else is better than an empty seat.

 

The only couple of issues I've found is that my kids have varying levels of points and both are different again to me.

This obviously prevents us buying tickets early as a family which could be awkward for us but as a scheme I suppose it's as workable as anything else.

The other issue is the system of not getting points when I'm on shift and can't attend despite supporting the club by buying an ST which I think should be challenged. In my mind it seems wholly unfair on the ST holders who are missing out on these points.

 

Unfortunately probably not. He only comes for the sugar rush from all the Haribo's and full fat Tango, and after match Big Mac that Sam buys him !!

I did storck , came on around 9.10 for me .

 

Theres only about 3/4 clubs in the league where they can't accomadate us.
