I've been looking a bit more into Oxford United's offering and found this:
https://www.farrs.co/stadium-catering/
Probably explains why I could walk up and buy a pint of real ale (Shotover Brewery), at half time, within 10 seconds of reaching the catering outlet. Plenty of City fans buying the food and drink, with no long queues.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -

Spot on !!!!!!
Next whip round is to pay the leccy bill
Wish my customers would pay for my canteen to be upgraded -
If that's what they want to do so be it
Seems ironic with our chairmans reported wealth we have to have a whip round for basic maitainence
Are the fans going to get reduced admission or cheaper beer for funding such improvements I would gamble not
Each to their own but it seems so much money was wasted last season both pre and post Mr Rahic and the pure dross we were treated to on the pitch the club should first put their own house in order.BingleyBantam and Mike Hunt like this. -

To avoid the cask/keg issue why not stock bottle beer/craft instead from local breweries? Different brewery per month - opportunity for 9 different breweries to supply the ale for the season.

If you have been to City's matches at Coventry City or Oxford United in the last few season's you would have seen that both Club's provide real ale inside their grounds, including to away fans. Many non-league clubs do the same; Keighley & Worth Valley Railway have handpumps on their trains. Such organisations have found that, despite only opening weekly or fortnightly, it is relatively straightforward to provide real ale and thus boost their income. Even my local club, Stafford Rangers, have real ale on at their matches.
Having a tie in with Carlsberg does limit options, but even Carlsberg have deals in place, so that they can supply their customers with other breweries real ales, including Adnams, Fullers, St Austell and Timothy Taylor's plus quite a few others. Whether they have the will to do it for City, just for matches, is another matter.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...marshy77 likes this. -

Further update a ‘Pin’ (36 pint barrel) would cost £48.50+VAT. So slightly more costly. Using the same formula the cost would be £58.20. Divide by 36 = £1.61 a pint. If you can’t make a profit out of that, then there is something sadly lacking.
How come Coventry, Oxford, Walsall, AFC Wimbledon and Accrington Stanley (https://accringtonstanley.co.uk/2018/07/redz-bar-opens-12pm/) from small clubs and Man City + Spurs at the opposite end can manage it?Rocket likes this. -

Problem with cask, apart from the shelf life, is the way it's stored. There would need to be cellar cooling, racking plus all the dispense kit involved. Then at the other end, there would need to be someone who actually knows what they are doing.
I'd go for one way kegs of Saltaire, Magic Rock, Northern Monk to name but a few great local "craft" breweries. Taste wise it's not far off "real ale", light enough to satisfy the lager boys, and a few other taps could be set aside for something more hoppy. Three weeks shelf life once opened (it's really just Bag In Box), and can be dispensed using regular existing equipment.
Footnote: Just found out that Salamander have stopped brewing. That's sad news. Used to love their "Mud Puppy" ale.bcfc2015 likes this. -
