Two great goals and managed the game very well towards the end but not a great performance. Take that result every other week away from home though.

To be fair they hardly had any shots second half, apart from the goal. I would say we defended resolutely and looked to break on the counter attack. Looked solid and organised so disagree we were poor. We were far from it.

 

It wasn't a criticism, merely an observation. Grimsby changed their play at half time and Morais for me was the best player on the pitch. But our defence was the pick, the two centre backs were outstanding. Thought central midfield struggled a bit, gave the ball away too often. All in all another good team performance.

 

I'll take 5 shots with three on target, shame Cooke didn't put his boot through that chance instead of making sure he hit the target, but 3 points is a great return,

I've also had my doubts about Cooke for a while now, however, to be fair, that last 'open goal' had taken a deflection and wrong-footed him slightly. He seemed to be heading for the far post to sweep it in on his right but had to slightly check back, by which time the keeper had got across to block.

 

We weren't poor. No way.

It was mostly a scrappy game on a difficult, greasy pitch. But 90% of winning points in this league is purely about being organised, winning first and second balls, working hard and everyone knowing their job. Minimising mistakes. Then you make the moments count. We did the ugly stuff well, we took our chances and deserved the win. We were never under the cosh really, ROD was comfortable.

We now have a proper platform going into January.

 

What world do you live in? Guthrie was complete gash as was Donaldinho. Both need replacing asap.

And you are having a go at the team scoring good goals? Bet you sat there moaning when Nova knocked that overhead in muttering "fluke" not repeatable. I want repeatable goals.

 

Paul Hurst et al? A long list of managers who are desperate to get a job. Any job. Trueman and Sellars - a young Cowley type partnership who have seven points out of nine to halt a pathetic run of form. New young ideas, both totally up with it, through all the top coaching and management courses they've done. I say give them the job.

 

Why would I complain about a good goal?

It was fantastic to see, and I've thoroughly enjoyed them.

You can't argue, you struggle to debate, so everything goes down to some fictitious nonsense about how you think people feel based on the bad logic and conclusions that you draw.

I think if people weren't wearing their 'Guthrie's crap' goggles, they'd have been pretty impressed with his impact, in which he was very unlucky not to get an assist.

 

We have a problem with attacking quality, which needs to be addressed in January.

I completely disagree with your last paragraph though. With the exception of his contribution for the chance Cooke missed, he looked unfit, his control was poor, for a 6ft 4 bloke he won nothing in the air, he didn't hold it up. I thought he was poor. So was Donaldson.

That's fine. All good disagreeing. I think if I put together a highlight reel of his contributions in isolation, his contribution would be deemed solid enough. He lost the ball a few times, but did what was needed.

 

Like you say, all about opinions. I'm desperately hoping that Central and wide attacking additions come in January. Daft as it sounds, with the right decisions made over the next 4 weeks, which would need to include 4 quality signings, we could fly up the table. Now, I'm not getting carried away - its 100% about survival- but other teams have done it in this league. The only side ive been impressed by is Salford, and that's as much down to how awful we were.

I am sorry Keighley but both Donaldson contributed very well in the closing minutes based on tonight nothing else
