Rowe has had a couple of quiet games word has got around. The way we were forced to play last didn’t suit he will be much better in an open game. He will be a big part of the next few months

We need to up the pace compared with Tuesday night's pedestrian performance. Newport looked to be 2 gears higher than we were.

 

Speaking to a friend whom supports Walsall he said, Newport had lots of possession allowed by the hosts whom sat SO deep. Simply Walsall switched off at a corner, on the left. Overwise, 0-0 would have justified the game. Accordingly, little action in the game. Not 1 offside in the game .

Sorry Dave but your mate seems to have given some duff info! Not sure how Walsall sat back and Newport had loads of possession yet only 42% on the data on the screenshot! Plus they did have 15 shots. Perhaps they got deeper over time?

I was thinking that an away match now would suit us and would mean that they would have to at least try and score and that would give us the chance to play some footy and catch them on the break unlike the bus being parked in a home match. May be totally wrong tho.

Here the views seem to be pretty balanced, but have you read some of the pap on Facebook lately?

Seems some have decided that any result other than a win is a poor result now that we've found some form; already I'm seeing the 1 up top thing coming under attack, which is just bizarre. When we go forward, we've four players committing to our attacking phases, but since only one of them is a 'striker', it seemed to get criticism.

I'd like us to beat Walsall, obviously, but there's not much in their recent 1-0 defeat or indeed in our recent 1-0 victory - it's not going to take a seismic shift in fortunes for us to POSSIBLY not win this one.

I'm glad most people on this forum can see beyond a dozen or so games without legitimately expecting perfection.

 

Know what you mean I almost fancy us more away when we can soak up pressure and then hit teams on the break.

Agree with calls for Cook to come in for Rowe as he can't play Tuesday and should be up for it against his ex club. I think Crankshaw's also earned a start after really valuable contributions from the bench. I'd bring him on for Vernam not Evans though. Think Vernam and crankshaw might leave us a bit exposed defensively.

Wondering how far off a suspension watt and Sutton are, can't be far off. They've struck up a good understanding in the middle. Guessing it'd be Evans to come into the middle should we need someone to do a job in there

 

I maybe wrong but think Watt is on 7 and sutton on 5 including the red card at Barrow

Does the red still count in totting up seeing as he will have already served a ban for it?
