Again the rest of my post was completely positive bar wood's issue with not being able to stop a cross which isn't unreasonable at all. We got a good smash and grab 1-0 win we didn't spank them 5-0 with intricate tiki taka.

For me it was bad decision on both the clubs and donaldsons part. Footballers are insanely competitive and have a high amount of self belief bordering on arrogance to the average person, which can and very frequently does cloud their judgement. As I say, if the guy looked at what state he's in with a completely clear head, he'd have retired at the end of last season or perhaps before, because he hasn't been offering much for some time now.

because if you know deep down you can't do something and the evidence has borne out that he isn't good enough now, surely some responsibility falls on you for carrying on anyway. He is likely to be one of our top earners and for what he contributes he is stealing a wage in my view. edit - I also think its a bit naive to completely disregard natural competitors being blind to the fact they can't compete anymore at something they've done their entire life.

 

We have at least 4 completely gash players at the club right now so its easy pickings really. Don't know why you are so surprised about it. Every club has a scapegoat and this season we have at least 4 to select from. Usually it's 1 or 2 but this season we have been blessed with abject levels of shitness on a whole new level.

That's my point in a nutshell. As much as it's naive of me on some level if he is a human being he will see he isn't justifying such a big wage in the slightest.
