Tranmeres home form fairly solid. Do lose the odd game but generally win at home. This is our caretaker managers toughest test so far.

    Tranmere 2-0 City

A few days closer to the window and reinforcements coming in early on hopefully

Think we'll come up short today. Tranmere have some good attacking players and our habit of scoring worldies will have to end sooner rather than later.

Tut tut! Where's your fighting spirit? I 100% believe the lads will be right up for this one, even if some on here aren't. Think the worst we'll come away with is a draw.

A win would be great but I'd take a point. Keep cheating Vaughan quiet and we might have a chance. Talk in the t and a about freshening things up. Aside from maybe Evans coming in for Pritchard or Clarke i see very little options on that front. I'll take the fresh legs of Guthrie or Donaldson coming on when we're trying to see out a game but think we'd be weaker for having them start

Tough game. Tranmere usually strong at home. I would happily take a point now, however, I think the mini revival under Trueman and Sellars will come to an end. I am going 2-0 to Tranmere.

Just suppose we win, I wonder how that will affect Sparks decision on next manager. Similarly if we lose, will it make it easier for him to announce the appointment of Hurst tomorrow, as predicted by the ones in the know on here.

    A draw.

I'll be fairly happy with that.

Regardless of the result, a decision needs to be made. The window opens soon and city can not feck it up again.

Hurst was meant to be named last week then after the Grimsby game and now we are saying tomorrow? Why tomorrow?

If Hurst is the man then todays result won't make a difference either way.

One of the teams i would quite like City to stuff, ronnie moore's old team- need i say more.

Remember the game at valley parade where the gambling cheat gooding got sent off for taking our player right out on the touchline?

Some of you made the mistake of laughing at Tranmere and Bolton earlier in the season.

Today's game will show how much we have really improved. It's a tough game for us and unfortunately I think we will lose.

He took out Reid right in front of the assistant referee. Only got a yellow. Disgraceful decision, as it wasn’t an aerial duel. We saw it very clearly, from where we were sat.

‘Tranmere unwittingly became embroiled in a betting scandal in the spring of 2014 as their dismal on-field displays were matched with controversy off the pitch. Moore was sacked after admitting to a breach of Football League betting rules.

Club stalwart Ian Goodison was also arrested as part of a match-fixing investigation that rocked football’. https://ryanferguson.co.uk/blogs/planet-prentonia/tranmere-rovers-demise

    Tricky fixture this one.
If we show the same togetherness and new found commitment to win the ball back off the opposition anything is possible today.
Let's finish the year on a winning note.

Flip of a coin for me. Tranmere aren’t that great at home - Won 4, Lost 4 and no draws. We’re 2/2/5 away. Glass half-full or empty. They win 50% and Lose 50%. We Lose approximately 50% away. Probably slightly edge in their favour but nowt to fear, based on stats. I’m off for an away win in the prediction league (for a change), as long as we don’t piss about too much with the team selection.

I do recall that game though he didn't actually get sent off. He had a bet that he would get sent off that day as part of some cheating syndicate.

It's not me Fordy that is saying Hurst will be announced tomorrow. It's the likes of Tyneside and Bamybantam on here who have insisted Hurst signed a deal earlier this week and was set to be announced, perhaps they know why it keeps getting delayed.

In my opinion, I dont think Sparks has made his mind up yet. I have suspected all along that he has been targeting managers already employed by other clubs. One of the rumoured targets, Chris Beech, signed a new contract at Carlisle on Christmas Eve, I suspect our rumoured interest in him spooked them.

If its signed then they wouldn't have been such a long delay. Not saying it won't be Hurst but it wouldn't shock me if it wasn't.

I give Sparks stick but I like how his mind hasn't been made up yet it would seem and looking at managers at other clubs. We need to get the manager he really wants and if we have to pay compo the so be it.

On todays game the Watt and Sutton partnership is really going to get tested.

Today is the day Austin Samuels shows why he was the final piece of the jigsaw, and an upgrade on Vaughan.

    Tranmere 1 City 3 (Samuels hat-trick).
