Match Thread Away v Salford City Sat Sept 11 @3.00pm

Funny old game we knew at Morecombe Adams preferred the lone striker role, yet we started the season with Angol partnering Cook up top, we created chances and did well until Angol got injured against Stevenage, then for some reason he goes back to the lone striker formation, having said that for me Lavery is not that man to support Cook.
We are making more chances but unfortunately were not sticking them away, Cook may be the biggest culprit but he's certainly not alone in missing chances, I hope against Barrow he changes the formation and goes with Cook and Robinson up top, I believe even with one less in midfield we can create chances certainly at Valley Parade.

 

Agree Bronco, we should sacrifice one of the defensive midfield players for another forward with a 4-1-3-2 formation

 

It's ok. @Bigrod will no doubt say a draw in our next match is acceptable.

We should been taking advantage of a poor Salford form and beaten them. Poor!

Disappointing as yesterday was we are still in a challenging position
It's time to give Cook a striking partner (pick whoever you want)
Walsall showed the rest of the league how by putting 2 men on him you could blunt our attack
It begs the question whilst 2 defenders were keeping him quiet what was our "spare man" doing
Let's hope Mr Adams has learnt from the last 2 games and puts 2 up front or this could well be another long season
What worked at Morecambe last season (probably the poorest league in memory) won't necessarily work at Bradford this season

 

Traveled down to Salford with the Corn Dolly crew hoping Darb's might make another appearance at the Ring of Bells Middleton, unfortunately he didn't make it.
Steve a guy on the coach brought a bucket to collect for the Darby Rimmer Foundation, he raised £358.77 from patrons on the coach including the three scratch card winners, Steve's employers are Morrison's I believe matched the total collected on the coach generating £717.54 for a great cause.

What a great generous bunch of guys/gals great effort thanks Andy for your text letting me know, any time you fancy a great away day to let the coach take the strain I'd highly recommend these guys.

I agree I believe 1 - 0 would have won the game for us, I'm not trying to dismiss that very easy chance Cook missed but maybe the lad is trying too hard, rather than letting his natural striking ability he's trying too hard, knowing at the moment if he doesn't score no one else does.
That effort from Robinson when hi cut in and tried to bend it in would have been a great goal to win the game with, unfortunately not enough bend on it as their keeper looked nowhere near it.

Exactly Rod. A draw against Walsall was a poor result because it was a game we should have won, a draw against Salford would have been a good result because it was a game we never looked like winning in a month of Sundays.
