Rupp is a dreadful owner for this club. This is a massive season for us fans because get used to div 2 and the likes of Sutton passing us if we don’t go up.

I did and stand by it tbf to Keefly he’s mentioning players out injured so not sure how they could come on today? I’d rather Eisa and Angol to come on than Lavary and Robinson. Or Angol to start and Vernam to come on, that would give us a different type of player and let us change the shape with a bit more quality. The only thing I’d have done differently today if I were Adams would have been to bring a striker up along side Cook earlier even if they aren’t up to much and we conceded after going two up top. It was worth the risk, but at the time we were still creating chances so if Cook scores his header it’s not even a discussion we’d be having.

 

True, but to state the obvious, he didn't score so then the choice is - 1. Carry on, similar team, system, formation, approach and hope we score. 2. Make a change to make us more attacking or more defensive.

Adams did neither. And, in a way his lack of decision meant we lost.

 

Also one of the top scoring teams in the league last season which explains the high amount of chances we are seeing.

 

I think Adams was after Stockton who opted to stay at Morecambe. A shame as the lad has carried on his good form. Overly we shouldn't be too worrried yet as crerating chances but not scoring and conceding whislt limiting the oppostion to the odd chance was the direct opposite to what Bowyer did when he was picking up points with us. And while we knew Bowyers luck would run out, so to will our bad luck, IF we can get the likes of Eisa and Angol back on the pitch to add a goal threat to Andy Cook.

Well this is why we are now a small club and we wounder why we lose to Salford because we don't understand that until things change at the top this club isn't going anywhere.

I said before the season started that the squad was light on goals and would struggle to score without Cook. Promotion needs 70ish goals, even if Cook gets 20, the defence and own goals 15 I didn’t see 30+ goals in Lavery, Angol, Vernam, Gilliead, Cooke, Songo’o, Watt, Sutton, Evans and Eisa. Add Robinson to that and see nothing to change my mind.
As for the Stevenage and Mansfield games, I remember saying to my mate during the match Stevenage game, add a clinical striker and a Gary Jones midfielder and you guarantee promotion. Still stand by that comment.

Well, he's started neither Songo'o or Sutton when he had the chance so he's not thinking they're first 11 starters just now. Maybe he thinks their form will but it seems like your 5 is a 3 at best and Eisa is a stretch for the same category while he's hardly played so you may be down to 2.

 

What he isn't understanding are injuries are part of the game.

 

You are right Fordy they are, the lad that they brought on for McAleny early on looked far better than anything on our bench today. Adams seemed very frustrated towards the end of the window, it went from bringing two in to one and then when Robinson came in he said he’s no Lee Angol even though he wanted someone similar as we suspected he’d be out a while. Then followed it up with you rarely get your first choice targets, code for we probably got our 5th choice. It’s all well and good CEO’s and owners talking about promotion, but if we don’t back it up with investment then who’s to blame?

I’ll give you a clue he’s been here since 2016 and all but the first season has seen year on year regression. Let’s hope Adams can do it on a tight budget again. I don’t like hearing stories like on DMACs podcast that he recommended a player to Ryan at the end of the window who’d cost around £150k and felt would get 20+ goals but yet again we’re unwilling to invest that but extra on that missing quality. Considering we had around 6,000 tickets sold after the first two home games on top of surpassing our season ticket sale budget it’s disappointing we haven’t looked to invest that but extra. As if we’re top 3 all season the match day tickets sold would more than pay for any further out lay. The saying speculate to accumulate comes to mind. If any business doesn’t take risks now and again it’ll stagnate then go backwards.
