As Sparks alludes to you have to earn that right to gain promotion and it starts at the very top. In truth we had no intention of gaining promotion, merely hoping to get through with what was a unique situation due to the corona virus. This lack of ambition from Rhodes tied with the recruitment of McCall basically wrote the season off before it had even started. The fact we are even near the playoffs is testament to Sparks response to what could easily have been another relegation season. Next season will really show where this clubs ambitions lie, it won't be lacking from Sparks. But how much of that ambition is in Stefan Rupp remains to be seen.

 

With the amount of costly mistakes our defence are making, I'm amazed at the free pass they're getting.

 

The game should kick off as normal, with a one minute silence before no need to change kick off times. Not every one in the UK is royalist. Friday was bad enough with non stop coverage on every channel, it was way over the top.

Sorry if this is controversial but all of O'Donnell, Paudie and Anthony need to go. They're an awful combination. They make terrible decisions, pass too late to each other and put each other in trouble and just shrug shoulder, point and get angry with each other. They just can't play as a combination. It's awful to watch.

Thats been an issue ever since Allamby went, we went from guys playing 50 odd game seasons and being largely fine to this

 

Not sure what's happened to Clarke. One of his attributes used to be ball retention but these last few months he can't trap a bag of cement and even when he does have enough space to finally get it under control he tends to find the opposition with a sloppy or poor pass.

It's definitely proven to be a poor signing, regardless of whatever money he's on.

Are you really going to be watching 12 hours of Prince Phillip programmes? I suspect the vast majority won't so if the funeral is at 3 why not kick off at 12, 5:30 or even 7:30 on the Saturday?

Harrogate is 40 minutes away, fans are 5 seconds away (with the click of a button) and with midweek games either side of it the club doesn't lose any valuable recovery time for the players.

There's no reason whatsoever that it still can't be played on the Saturday and I fail to see why you're so uptight over the original post.

 

I think you're probably right, but this is a good test for our management duo. They did well to make us hard to beat given the circumstances when they took over, and it's worked, we're safe. So will they really go for it? I think the side they pick tomorrow will tell us a lot about their mindset. I'll be disappointed if they're not more positive in their approach. We have absolutely nothing to lose.

 

We literally have nothing to lose. So we must be aggressive and attack, attack, tomorrow and for the five matches after that. Unless we go for it, there's no question we'll end up mid table. If we go positive on risk and reward, we could go up.

I could not agree more Dubois. If M&S put the foot on the accelerator I'd be really happy. If it succeeded, fantastic. If not, I'd still be chuffed and hopeful for the future and next season that our managers took the decision to go for it.

Please win this one, been a harrogate born and bread I've watched them for years when I couldn't get to city games and have been fond of the team but since they've become rivals and in the same league I've grown to really dislike them.

Just get them both up there, go direct and let's make the opposition defence make mistakes. If he's concerned defensively just play the the more disciplined wide men.

 

Forget it. We're not good enough to go up. Thats been apparent for a while now. What I'm looking at, is how many of them are good enough to keep around. The answer, sadly, is not many.
