We have 3 strikers that are of a similar mould. They are big strikers who can hold the ball or header it in. We need some pace to counter a high line or to make it harder for large but slow CBs. Gunthrie isnt as good as Novak and Samuels would give us much more options. Im willing to bet he plays monday and gets full team before October.

 

Thats true. We have had some very average forwards like Bennet, Oteh and Seedorf though.

Will reserve judgment but im content, we added Evans too.

 

Just by having some pace will mean that defenders (generally) will not be able to push upfield quite so far as they would with having a Novak/Guthrie/Donaldson attack against them. This in turn should allow the other attacker (whoever is selected) to have a bit more space in which to operate and also allows our midfield to push up a bit more.

I hope Stuart had this lad on his radar before the on Tuesday night, after watching the game then watched the highlights and made his decision .

 

Looks different to what we have which is vital, whether or not he can actually play is the next test. Omari Patrick got a 3 year contract of the back of one really good goal so I'm wary of rating or knocking someone until they've got a few games in them unless they look proper rubbish. Hope he succeeds and gets some goals for us

 

Agreed and i hope any player that signs for the club is successful.

Also earlier in the article says he is looking forward to getting out there and showing 'our' supporters what I can do - if the our (as opposed to 'the') refers to Bradford before he has kicked a ball for us then well done young fella, already gone up in my estimation!

 

Not something he should be worrying about. It's us that has decided he's the answer to our problems up front, if it doesn't work out, we're the ones that should be holding our hands up, not Samuels.

 

He's the sort of signing we need, will have to see if he will deliver or not.
Young, pacey, decent record at U23 level in a prem club, relatively cheap / low risk, available on a free in summer if he's any good.

 

That’s why he is out on loan to earn a contract. They have great forwards very difficult to get in there

 

Out of contract next summer maybe if he does alright we may go in for him permanently.

He can only back him up to 1.5 million and with some left for January it won’t be far off

A young 19 year old with no league and minimal non league experience and some are getting far too ahead of themselves.

Crikey, a player with a bit of pace and some seem very easily pleased. Any reason this absolute unknown will be ahead of Guthrie in the pecking order, why the assumption he will automatically go into the first XI
