Need to build it in Queensbury though.
No risk of flooding and high altitude training everyday.
    Squad will be amazingly fit

I've said the same for a long time but unfortunately too many people who have the power to change this are stuck in their old ways with no intention of looking at them to realise how much better they are than the old days of the likes of QPR's plastic pitch. It not only affects clubs in the EFL but any non-league clubs who are considering it have to a wary that the next season they may have to rip it up which then not only costs them money to rip up a lay a new pitch but also loses a much needed facility for the local community. We are so far behind other countries in terms of amount of 3G pitches due to the cost of them and local authorities not being able to afford them, what better than a club being able to have one at their stadium that teams from U8's up to the 1st team can use as well as other grassroots clubs.

It might be a massive part of the success on the pitch on a Saturday but if the facilities you've got are functional and doing a job, why divert millions into building your own facility to the detriment of the playing squad for the next few years?

Things like the training ground are the sort of things we can worry about when we are in the Championship and/or when we are run by a wealthy owner.

The weather this weekend has been freakish so it just is what it is.

If you're just interested in the 90 minutes why are you here, contributing?

Club custodians come and go but the fans are ever present. Of course we want to discuss how our club moves forward and become sustainable. Why wouldn't we?

An interesting debate, but if the training ground wasn’t attached to a school and we owned it, the debate wouldn’t even be happening. It’s got facilities up there with any league 1 or 2 club, it wasn’t a problem for McCall last time or Parkinson, or anytime we’ve had a competent and coherent coaching set up.

We’d all love state of the art facilities, I’d be surprised if Lincoln’s are for that price. But it’s something to strive for once we actually get to a decent level.i.e the championship. Focus on the coaching and playing staff for now and results will improve, and I can guarantee conversations like this will become obsolete. Until our next slump anyway.

And how does that effect us as a club, if all the facilities are as good as any team around us? Leeds don’t own theirs, their fans weren’t going on about it when they were miles ahead earlier in the season. It’s irrelevant I’d rather rent good facilities, than own crap. Unless we get a rich owner, who’ll invest we won’t get much, if any better than we have now.

It’s not the only point people are making either, a few are saying they are poor.

Think we've just seen first hand in parts of Yorkshire that these defences don't actually work.

We won't own the ground for at least 8 years. This is about the ambition of our owner, he isn't going to put anymore money so it's not really worth further discussion.

I might be wrong but that's how I remember it. A business only sells assets like for one reason, to generate funds they don't have, usually when the banks have pulled funding. If anyone hasn't listened to the price of football podcasts I suggest they do, really does open your eyes to what happens behind the scenes in the murky world of football finance. As for us? Lower league income doesn't go very far, the owning of facilities that would only get used by the football club so many days and hours of the year doesnt make any financial sense unless these facilities can utilised by other paying customers for the rest of the time.

Don't even start to think the new owner is paying for any of this at Leeds. He'll be 'lending' to the club from various parties in the hope the premiership riches can offset it. Even in the premiership most clubs make eye-watering losses. You can count on one hand the amount of owners who actually put their own money in but not guaranteeing it against the club.

Not sure how many have seen but Mcburnie money set to rise to 3.2 million that city will receive. 3.2 million! Yet we have zero to show for it.

That sort of fee we will probably never see again for at least 5 years come in for one of our players. It might take ten years for our combined fees received to beat that figure. It is massive for a club in league two and probably a very definite one off. Yet it’s gone to line the owners pockets it all recent meetings are to be believed.

the Fa cup quarter final run and the capital one cup final appearance will never happen to a league two club ever again I wouldn’t say. So when are we as a club going to think further down the line and see the benefit of these once in a blue moon type of income seasons? Ie set that money aside for a new training facility, a new pitch with under soil heating for example?

under the current owner it doesn’t look likely at all

I am going from what was posted today on Twitter. Will be a total of 3.2 million once sheff Utd stay in the league.
Out of interest why do you quote 2.9 million?

whichever figure it is, close to 3 million and we’ve seen the worst side ever put together on the pitch and nothing else

Not sure if the 4g pitches are affected but school was closed this morning due to the weather. City won't be training down there for a while, pitches were all under water yesterday.

It’s about time the league relaxed the rules on artificial pitches the technology is so much better these days. I was watching a match at Scarborough recently and you couldn’t tell the difference. Installed it could also be used for training purposes

The question was who has that kind of money - the obvious answer is our owner.

Good money after bad? Investing in the club that you own, building the club, investing in an asset - but the real reason is he doesn't want to be here, he wants to sell up and he doesn't want to put anymore of his money in.

    SELL THE FING CLUB THEN!!

I see no point in Mr Rupp at all!

What's the point in him if he isn't willing to invest in the club he owns?

@wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler fails to answer this when he makes comments like who has 5m to invest in a training ground etc. Our owner does!

So the main question should be why isn't our owner wanting to invest in something he owns?

Stick of people dancing round subjects hence why the club gets no one.

If Mr Rupp doesn't want to be here or invest in the club then he needs to sell, its as simple as that!

Rubbish, since the Premiership days they have been upgraded as @borderlescott@borderlescott posted, Gym, swimming pool, treatment room, canteen, several outside pitches and the recently relaid 4G pitch.
