One of the reason Mr Rhodes has to leave this football club. He won't take us forward.

So a person unwilling to drive a business forward won't be telling the owner to invest and excuses like @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler and yourself make will keep popping up. Mr Rupp has the money, he owns the club.

Problem is though is if the if the current owner isn't even to look at alternatives or options this why would the new owner? This is what people like you are failing to understand. Things cost money we know that but it's up to Rhodes, Rupp and others at the club to drive it forward. Other clubs are talking us over while we stand still and make excuses!

Instead of coming out with negative comments about cost, why doesn't the club come out with positive PR about the future? Don't want to upset the school? Don't see the point in Ryan Sparks role either if the club is just going to stand still and say the same old things.

For me I would rather an owner that cares about the club and if Mr Rupp doesn't then he needs to sell ASAP.

4 times in the last 20 years. The facilities are great and I know he won't invest in a new place, my frustration is with him/the club and the lack of forward thinking mainly. His heart isn't in and it always seems like a quick fix is good enough now, which it isn't.

All you who are saying Rupp should sell up should acknowledge that he would quite willingly sell if someone came along with an offer that is agreeable to him. The problem is no one has, up to date. Our hope must be that we can get promoted and that would stimulate interest.

It might be a massive part of the success on the pitch on a Saturday but if the facilities you've got are functional and doing a job, why divert millions into building your own facility to the detriment of the playing squad for the next few years?

Things like the training ground are the sort of things we can worry about when we are in the Championship and/or when we are run by a wealthy owner.

The weather this weekend has been freakish so it just is what it is.

Wouldn’t we all I personally would love someone with real money that he or she was prepared to put into the club with very little chance of return. In fact I have waited over 60 years for it with only one chairman putting other people’s moneyin and then nearly putting us out of business.

The truth is, we will never be able to move much further forward while we’re at the Apperley Bridge school fields. It simply doesn’t appeal to decent professionals as somewhere they’d wish to ply their trade week in week out.

As long as we’re using the school for training and smaller clubs are improving past us with their own training facilities, we aren’t going anywhere far unfortunately.

The problem is Rupp is the owner by default as we
all know. He has kept faith even though he's not a football
man but if we became more successful maybe he could be?

As a business man he should be able to see the potential
We have, but as a business it needs infrastructure investment
to make it viable as a business worth buying.

I think we need a plan to buy the ground and if Rhodes can't
or won't deal with Gibb, then Rupp should do it.Substantial
assets in a business with our potential, make it worth buying.

Maybe questions to Rupp in regards where he wants to go
with this is important,to be able to plan a successful future
    for our club.

Symptomatic of the backward thinking that goes on at our club and the fact an associate director agreed astounds me.

The pitches were good enough 20 years ago so they're good enough now. I'm guessing technology has moved on since Jewels time, the bar is higher.

@wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler is talking reality. Where is the money men prepared to put the kind off money needed Rupp won’t. It’s easy to talk about these figures needed a lot harder finding someone who will do it.

Us not having the money to do.it is a different argument to "it was okay 20 years ago so it'll be okay now"

I am sure he like the rest of us would be delighted with our own training ground but there is everything needed at Rawdon meadows I bet there are not many at this level better. The more worrying thing is not finding the 300k to keep up with the pitch

That's a more valid point. We should be comparing ours with others around us and I'm not sure how they stack up. Comparing ours to Wimbledon from where they were in the premiership is ludicrous.

It's been a long standing issue with the board that they defend the training grounds when they were unacceptable. They're better now obviously but only because PP pushed for it but I doubt they're ideal.

Do you believe that? How many football league clubs do you think onw their own training ground?

Having their own / owning their own is a completely different statement.

Just like most people have their own home but don’t own their own homes.

It's the same, a lot of them have more than one purpose. I've had this debate on here before but what is it that you don't think our training ground doesn't offer that others do?

And I'm pretty sure where a player trains is one of the last things on the list when signing for a club..
