The training ground completely under water this afternoon.

They will need to train indoors tomorrow or borrow somewhere else.

The water is halfway up the goalposts on the pitch on the other side of road behind Stansfield Arms

Bloody pansies. They’d have just carried on regardless back in my day. Bloody players nowadays. Don’t know they’re born.

Saw some pics from this morning and the water was almost touching the top of the arches of the bridges.....not good.

They used to use the artificial pitches at Goals in emergencies didn’t they?

More importantly, I wonder if we had covers on the pitches at VP?

They've also used the 3g pitches over at Marley so that's another option.

The sports centre there is in an area with a current flood warning as well. Not sure if it has flooded or not

I came through that way an hour ago and it looked fine. I’ve never seen the plastic pitch at Marley flooded. I played on a few of the grass ones when you were up to your knees in mud but I’ve never seen that one flood

They are just before you come to the railway bridge, when it flooded last time it lifted the previous playing surface and was replaced by the new 4g ? surface it looks like it rained again during the night.

Not sure if the 4g pitches are affected but school was closed this morning due to the weather. City won't be training down there for a while, pitches were all under water yesterday.

If we had an owner that wanted to push the club on, looking to the future and invest in stuff it might have been a good time to start looking at getting our own training base - that we own. An asset. But I doubt that will happen.

Not until we have an owner who wants to be here for the long term and commit to the club.

A lot is made of the training facilities but it isn't a valid excuse for the lack of success on the pitch. They were good enough for Jewell and the Premier League survival team so they are good enough for the League Two cloggers. They have been upgraded over time. In an ideal world, yes, we'd have our own facilities, but when have we been financially stable? Even under Rhodes and Lawn we had to sell players or bank on a cup run to get by. We still don't own the ground either.

Well said, the voice of common sense and reason.
Anyone with at least £5 mill to spend on buying and developing a training facility step forward please.

Training is a massive part of the success on the pitch on a Saturday, especially when our new manager has only had 3 days to work with the players.

Our current facilities are not good enough and needs addressing sooner rather than later.
