You see, we hear stuart constantly saying 'they have to be better than what we have', which is true, but he makes it sound like we've got messi upfront and finding someone better is a hard job. The reality is we've Donaldson and Guthrie upfront who are no better than most strikers a division or two below us. These players we're struggling so hard to find are clearly out there, we're just not well enough equipped to find them and/or don't offer enough financially.

Yes he could, i don't doubt that. And I actually like Mason - I met him once and had a good chat. Although he seemed to have been taken in by Rahic as were many others. My question would be what qualifies him, beyond his previous connection to the club? Personally, I'd like to see someone with a track record of growing a club, with a forward thinking plan. Huw Jenkins would be perfect.

Morais released by Crawley. He'll be back here by tomorrow judging by our business so far.

Why? We don't play with wingers, we're not flush with cash and we're desperate for a striker.

Morais? No offence to Filipe but we need to be building for the future and not trying to resurrect the past!

I'd be willing to tell him but I'm not convinced he'll be listening. SmC knows what he likes but likes who he knows.

It always was can’t believe some believe some of the nonsense on Twitter, I could call myself clues up bantam and post crap on the hashtag and some would fall for it. Gillingham are skint and had to pull out of the race for Danny Rose, where they’re going to pluck up potentially a quarter of a million pound is anyone’s guess.

I personally long to see Stu do well for us and indeed, it's too early to judge progress. I mostly agree that we ought not get bogged down with bringing in the past, but truly hope he has a few rabbits and hats handy that will enable him to lay down a marker.

This club won’t grow if we keep going back to the same people with the same ideas, Rhodes, McCall, Mason. New people with fresh ideas, that’s what’s needed. And money. But new ideas is a start.

I find it incomprehensible that anyone could think a resurgent BPA in the Football League wouldn't hurt us.

It may or may not be part of the reason why the club has spent the majority of its life in the two bottom divisions. I don't really care about that. I didn't arrive in Bradford until 1980, by which time BPA were long gone. I'm only interested in what would happen in future if they were to get into the FL.

We have a pretty limited pool of potential supporters. We have a larger city with a PL club immediately to our east and a Championship Club with recent PL history immediately south of us. The Aire Valley is a traditional City area, but get to Keighley and Skipton and many football fans there support Burnley. Inner city Bradford has a majority Asian population with a stubbornly low interest in watching live football, despite low ST prices and their close proximity to our ground. Add in the fact that Bradford is historically a big Rugby League area and I don't see much upward movement in our support base any time soon.
South Bradford was traditionally the BPA supporter hotbed, but as others have said, many there now support Leeds.
I think a resurgent BPA in the FL would soon start to hit our ticket sales. The 9/10k hardcore ST base would probably stay put but the more casual fans might well jump ship and youngsters would be quite likely to latch onto a club on the up, rather than the one that is struggling to recover from the Rahic era. I also think that more local competition for supporters would make it less likely that Rupp could find an enterprising buyer to take us off his hands.

Hopefully it won't happen. But I just cannot see how a second Bradford club in the FL could do us anything but harm.

There's definitely plenty of Burnley fans in Keighley and the surrounding areas. But it's dwarfed by the number who support Leeds United. Back in the 80's people from Leeds had a nickname for Keighley: Cave Town. Because they believed its inhabitants were so behind the times that they still inhabited caves. City fans were pretty thin on the ground historically. However, when City started to climb the leagues from the mid 80's onwards far more people from Keighley went to watch City, because the standard of football was worth watching. Get the club playing attractive football and challenging at the top of the league and the crowds will follow. The higher up the pyramid they rise, the more will come.

Sounds like the boy prefers it down south. Not suprising really, seeing as he's from Scotland and only sees the sun a few times a year. Not sure Bradford on a wet weekend can compete with Stevenage.

Could be. We don't know. That's why I made a tongue in cheek post. Sorry about that. Next time I'll do proper research before posting something.

Barnsley have just parted with their manager seems a strange decision to send a player out on loan unless they have an Edin in charge.

They will be new ideas, Mason was not the CEO during his time at Valley Parade, new broom in is no guarantee, for me Mason would be an excellent candidate, but at the moment it's all rumour unless you lads on TCA know more ?.
