Three seasons ago, everyone was moaning about the squad been too young

Agree here. But Evans would enhance the squad and there's nothing to say that we can't sign someone else with pace

 

I've posted since - I agree, he'd add depth to the squad, and I'd rather him in the side than Guthrie or even DMH, I just don't think it really 'solves' any of the problems we have.

 

Fair play to McCall for hanging around for him. I doubt that he will get L1 and so his patient might be rewarded

Tricky balance though, as it obviously could mean missing out altogether

Unfortunately I have a gut feeling that with the Covid-19 issues, especially with fans not being allowed back in stadiums for up to perhaps another six months, all ELF clubs will ease back with their signings due to financial concerns. Although having said that our 9,000 season ticket sales I would hope puts us in a stronger position.

I'm still leaning on the side of it being an untried youngster on loan who, in my opinion, will be a panic signing. In which case, we've probably held out too long for the 'top' targets.

I'd still rather have that than another transfer window panic buy (hello Guthrie!!). Hula Hoop would be superb. Ironically, given what I've said in this thread earlier he was one of the strikers I was very underwhelmed by, left and proved me wrong!! Just goes to show

Fair play to McCall, why? The only reason Hiwula would come to us is if he gets no takers anywhere else,. That's hardly hanging around, more like the fat kid at school who gets picked last for the footy at dinner time.

He's played in a successful team but 22 goals in just under 100 appearances isn't exactly setting the world on fire.

 

Indeed - and this isn't a criticism of Vincelot - its all well and good speaking out now. Even back in 2017, what Rahic was doing was well known to many. Even on here, a reasonable amount of fans were imploring the rest of the fanbase to wake up to the lunatic running the show. Far too many were ignorant, and those in a position to make a difference, sooner, chose not to. He was allowed to go far too far, and speaking out now makes no difference. The horse has bolted. I'd have had much more respect for certain individuals if they'd laid the truth bare when it could have made a difference. Instead, we're back in this sh*t pool, with no real plan that gives confidence the next few years will be better.

 

Who said they are mates. Businesses also run on word of mouth. Do you ever use someone who did a good job for you before, or one of your neighbours?

Yes O'Grady came to us after an injury and lots of fans expected him to hit the ground running and gave him abuse. You could see he had something about him as it proved to be at other clubs.
