This ones clearly come about as he is now surplus to requirements at Pompey. He can’t have been on our list of targets.
I imagine he’s for the right wing/ right wing bakc role. In which case he’s better than DMH and Ismail already. However McCall saying this player can play all over the park? Worrying if he’s going to be used more up front. We already have enough older heads up top

Portsmouth's equivalent of the T&A reporting that they understand up to 6 clubs have registered an interest in Evans.

Number 10 or out wide he’d far better than what we’ve got already

He got injured playing for Rotherham in front of the kop just after he left us and as he was carried off he got a lot of jeers from our fans. Gave us it back at Rotherham when he banged in two against us.

My recollection was that the away match came first, he played the panto villain in front of his new fans.
In the return match city fans were out for him and Flynn took him out of the game?

Yeah that includes Wigan who are in league one yet city fans still moan about everything! He’s played over 200 games and captained a massive club with expectant fans, the Portsmouth fans see him as one of there best players in recent years, we ve asked for a leader am sure he can be that if he is indeed brought in

    Good comment

Reading the thread about Evans and the T&A comments, you start to realise why strikers / creative players seem to do better elsewhere than here

My theory, is that we've never embraced our fall from grace from The Premiership - so sadly, as an average, we're a bit of an impatient bunch and with the big crowds (when we can go!!) this feeds into the players

Of course we've had some rubbish, but it's amazing how many fans judge a player purely on what they did for us - probably the same fans who were giving that player the abuse when they were here!!!

No it was in November 2011 that Evans got injured in the 12th minute at Valley parade playing for Rotherham. It was the following season in 2012 that Rotherham walloped us and Evans having not forgotten the abuse from City fans when he was carried off gave us some back when he scored a couple.

Well put a big man there then. Its not a written law that the near post has to be covered by the full back, same at corners

So you don't think we've had some 'rubbish'?

Or have you decided not to think that there might be a link between creative player failure and our expectations?

Is it "rubbish" to put forward that theory on a forum?

Can you let me know what I can post, please

Tell me one person who does not do the same in life. Even more so now with limited budgets and squad size taking a risk on a unknown player is even more riskier due to opportunity cost

And put the small right back in the centre to mark
big centre forwards? Defensively you need height and
    strength in this league especially.

v true, hence why young players quite often don't blossom here. Fans do not allow players to make mistakes or try something different. End up being crabs, and playing it safe

Simon Parker should know he's from Pompey and well connected including the local paper.

Why would that happen? You could easily move him out to the edge of the six yard box to stop the flat corner or act as the wall. It doesn't mean you then have to mark the tall person. Also small does not mean you can't jump or win headers. Think of Paul Parker, Ferdinand, Tim Cahill etc. The only way to react to your argument is to have 11 tall players so none 'left' over. Time warp back to the 80's. Zonal marking helps as well, as long as they attack the ball.

Evans is 5foot 10 inches tall not a smurf by any means.

We have signed rubbish players that are just rubbish with bad attitudes. That is no fans fault and never will be. Ever. I’d say city fans are the quite forgiving in the main in the ground and always give new signings a fair reception etc.
If your theory is true why did it not effect Peter Thorne, Dean windass, Nahki Wells, James Hanson, to name A few?
