Just heard his interview and it sounds to me as if we've missed out on our first few targets and are now taking in potential loanees on trial because we've ran out of ideas. Doesn't sound inspiring.

I get what you are saying about players like Winnall and perhaps Hiwula, however the clock is ticking for players like this, and they may find that no EFL clubs have the space or budget left in their squads to accommodate them.

From what he was saying last night he is going down the young pro route from teams above and wants to have a look at them first.
It’s early days but the team has started well and it looks like he doesn’t want to upset that spirit which sometimes brining players in can do. So if he can bring a couple in like that it would be good

 

I think players such as Winall will always find a way back into the game, but not at their first or second choice club if they leave it too late. There'll be a number of clubs who keep something back for January or hold on until the very end of the window, hoping to grab a player of his quality at the last minute.

That the club aren’t just bringing in any player willy nilly. There are thousands of players available and he is making sure he brings in the right ones.

 

He doesn't need to bring them on trial to do that. If they were players he had targeted, he surely knew all about them through 'scouting' and word of mouth. The only reason we'll be bringing in loan trialists is because stuart knows next to nothing about them, meaning the ones he really wanted have gone out the window.

 

So, the season has started and City are nowhere near the salary cap limit and yet voted against the cap, that figures.
Lot of faith being put in young kids putting in a performance week in week out.
Mind you, when you see what donaldson currently offers, you cant blame them.

 

How many young loan players have we brought in before only for them not to make the grade like seedorf for one and end up wasting a squad spot.If they come in for a week or two to see if they are the right fit wont do us any harm if they settle and turn out to be a good signing. Some fans need to have a bit of patience instead of having the I want it now syndrome.

 

I don't necessarily have a problem with bringing in trialists. My point is that we're clearly way down the list of potential targets if we're now looking at players that Stuart can't even watch on the ipad. And this to replace your only goalscorer is concerning.

 

I don't think Phil Parkinson knew very little with regards Reece Burke or Josh Cullen but he trusted Tim Breacker who he had as his assistant at Charlton.
