Out of interest, what would be a 'standard' number of staff on the coaching side in L2?

I don't know, but to me the model of a boss with his assistant feels a bit outdated. With the squad size we had last season, and the number of players we used, I'm not surprised the coaching didn't appear to make much difference.

We have to be better prepared next season and I think a stronger coaching and fitness set up, at the expense potentially of a player or two is an investment worth making.

 

you wouldn’t be happy taking orders from mourinho then? he only played 90 games across the portuguese lower leagues, wenger played 60+ matches in france’s football pyramid, marco beilsa played 65 senior games in argentina and mark warburton played 135 non-league matches. klopp played his career in bundesliga 2, equivalent standard of league one/two. all have gone on to have successful careers in their own rights as a coach / manager.

this is not comparing drury to them but to infer you need to be a succesful player to be a good coach is way off the mark. ben garner, didn’t have a successful playing career but has been very successful as a coach and was approached for the managerial role last pre-season. what would your reaction have been to him if he had of signed? coach and manager are two completely different roles. we say we want to give young british talent a chance but as soon as it comes to our club, we want rid and don’t want anything to do with it.

if you don’t like him then fair enough, but clearly managerial staff at the club do.

 

manager, assistant, 1 x coach, 1 x GK coach and 1 x physio with a part-time match-day help would be the norm for league two. unless you have an assistant / coach rolled into one position.

 

It took me a couple of weeks to realise that him and Collins weren't the same person. MAYBE THEY ARE?!

 

Since I discovered Veet, it's become a whole new ball game down there.

 

Hopkin stuck with him now it appears Bowyer has they work with him everyday and are better judges than anyone on here

Todd coaching skills we're hardly fantastic when he was here. Think bowyer too needs to get off to a good start. Wasn't his team so won't judge him yet. But you look at rochdale and how they picked up when sacking manager.without bringing any players in.
