Andy Cook Signs on Loan

We made enquiries about him before the window opened. Either Novak has been injured for a lot longer than we've been led to believe, or Cook isn't cover for Novak and was part of the plan this transfer window all along.

He looks like a decent signing. With him and Rowe in the team I can't see us getting bullied by defenses!

Shame if it does mean Novak is out for a while but he seems a more than adequate alternative.

Mansfield have been awful for the last 18 months in fairness. Many a good player has flopped there. They are on the up under Clough but more than happy to write off his spell there and he did well at Walsall and Tranmere.

 

Very good point. Truman and Sellars are turning things around with a formation and system that works. At the same time the club are strengthening our squad and options. Then a lot of people on this forum want to break it all up and pick the team for Trueman and Sellars.

It's a good signing for now. WE ARE NOT GOING DOWN! So, the key is to maybe look at a few for next season and look to build for then.

I think Cook another 30 is signed because we will miss Novak's experience and leadership. The squad lacks leaders massively and I think this is a wise loan signing.

Yes, we do need more pace in area but it's pace and ability which is harder to find.

I'd be leaving loanee Cook on the bench, Callum ran the show last night up front, and Rowe got his first goal for the club. I'd definitely restore Novak to the starting line up, Clarke is the one who makes way on current form, but there's no place for Cook just yet

 

It's to be hoped if this article is true were not paying all Cook's salary....

Well this lot have us paying Wood £580 a week, while we we're paying Longridge nearly 4 times that amount.

Would the new managers play both Rowe and Cook? They have only played one striker so far.

 

Why change formation? Where’s Novak going to play? Rowe is the most dynamic striker I’ve seen us sign in years, and this after just two games. You think we should drop him for Novak, or shift him down to midfield to accommodate?

No way. From what I’ve seen so far, and he’s been paid money for, then let the forward line be dictated by him. He’s hungry for goats, and id let him stay up top.
