It's not particularly unfair. The home side get all the home sales and the first 500 sales to cover lost revenue from what would have been tickets sold to away teams. The away side get the rest. In that instance, would Bolton have taken more than 500 to Colchester (?). There are many ground where the away number is limited to a 1,000 or so anyway, so perhaps the first 1,000 to the home team might be fairer.

Very much so. Its about the future now. Rendering the past as the future is a dangerous policy

Unless it changes again between now and then, which I reckon it will do, as the retired population gets larger then age will probably move up.

I am 57 and my state pension age is 67. I definately won't be working much passed 60. The age when you get the reduced price from the club , should be 65. Lots of people over 60 , earn good salaries and don't need the reduce price.

I'd question the entire concept of giving seniors a discount against the 'normal' ST price. I just don't understand the logic of it.

That might well be unpopular with the Over 60's or Over 65's or whatever the rule is but I've yet to hear a coherent reason for any discount against a ST which is already the cheapest in the land.

i actually agree with you on this. Hasn't the state pension been in the triple lock,as well. Meaning gauranteed increases annually at the highest available amount?

You are right when prices are cheap which they have been for a while and pensioners have had no discount

May 13th 2023 for me, (my 64th birthday next week....just saying!).

I personally think it's time to up the prices £200/220? for adults, some sort of family season ticket for parent taking a couple of kids. If it's mum and dad taking a couple of kids you could let the kids in free if the parents are buying 2 adult tickets, gets kids into it from an early age and sell them pop and crisps. I would go along with Fordy's match day suggestion of reducing the ticket price to £15, we may get more uptake then from fans who can't attend home games on a regular basis.

Granted they were some of the best years we've seen in a while but where is the legacy? The point I'm making is we're living season to season on cheap season tickets, then wondering why we aren't challenging for promotion or have squads full of national league quality players. Investment in the infrastructure should have been put in place, not putting plasters over massive cracks, closing your eyes and hoping all will be well.

I suppose it depends on how much the tickets go up to. Pay on the gate is 25% cheaper for students and senior citizens, so I think once the tickets stop being very cheap the reason not to give the discount to students/senior citizens reduces

The family ticket is a good idea but I take my kids and absolutely refuse to buy sweets or pop from the tea bars. It's an absolute rip off so usually go visit the sweet man at the end of MR before going in.

City do not have a product at the moment that justifies a one penny increase in ST prices . We have a fan base that allows a lower ST price than other L2 clubs, simple. And whether your an entrepreneurial whizz kid, a NHS worker, or a seasoned pensioner, it is surely blindingly obvious there is no justification for a hike based on current performance or direction on or off the pitch.

To put it bluntly, all the solutions mentioned on here will only generate at best a couple of 100K per season, or more likely backfire and lead to reduced up-take and revenue. In reality, this sort of money is just about enough to keep a couple of long-standing injuries in physio, and a payment or two to other L2 or non-league clubs for taking underperforming strikers off our hands, or renew all the broken seats.

To start any renaissance to former glory, we need a major cash injection from our owner, over and above, alongside some interested leaders and players to move things along. Once this momentum is underway, the fan base will increase, and any increase in ticket price will be justified, and hopefully significant enough to be financially useful.
