This decision shouldn't be about the football club. It should be all about the fans and we need to stand together.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...bantamdave41 and TallinnBantam like this. -

Not to mention all the staff that have signed a contract and base their working hours around a 15:00 kick off. Hard enough to find people to fill positions these days, so if a lot leave because they can’t work for a 1pm kick off, then that’s new staff that need to be found. Police, Stewards, Traffic enforcement, all work around the age old 3pm kick off. Pubs and cafes need to change their rota too.
It’s a huge behind the scenes change, for something that could be addressed by the Government nationally. Don’t football clubs work with fixed priced electricity contracts? They certainly should!bantamdave41 and chris mac like this. -

I'm waiting for Ryan to suggest midweek games should kick off at 1am, so we can take advantage of cheap overnight electricity.

The reality is that virtually all the heating will have to be on for the same duration, as the internal space that has heat, will still require it, despite the kick off time.
As @borderlescott has stated, the toilets and stairwells will require light irrespective of the kick off time given little/no natural light.
I would add the kiosks, the catering kitchens, the concourses as well.
In effect the power used within the stadium will be virtually the same whatever the kick off time.
Often in the three months when the scheme would be in place, there are dark/overcast days with little natural light, so lights need to go on during daylight hours.
Looking at the last point, then the same will apply to a match played in a wet day with dark cloud, even if it is kicking off at 1.00pm. The referee will require floodlights, to officiate the match and to ensure the safety of the players.
Perhaps the club could switch the floodlights on later (say 2.00pm) and switch them off earlier (say 5.30pm).
Again it is the lack of factual and monetary detail which fails to make the economic argument.
Any benefits need to be contrasted with the hardship it will place on some supporters and it could well threaten to undermine the excellent progress that has been made in increasing the supporter attendance.Bronco and bantamdave41 like this. -

Our 100% record in 1pm kick offs makes this an easy decision.

I've run out of holidays for the year, so would miss (part) Saturday home games or have to forfeit away games, meaning I fall further behind on loyalty points and thus potentially could be handicapped if, big away games were to follow.
Not ideal. Tbh, my initial thoughts are that I would continue to go away and spend my money outside of the club.Rogered Tart likes this. -

I'm happy to go with 1pm kick offs, as it has little impact on me personally, but I think its really important that those who would be impacted, by such a change, make sure they complete this survey, so the Club are aware of the sort of numbers involved.

I am not fussed either way, but understand why it becomes difficult for some with work commitments.
How about every adult chipping in a quid as you enter the stadium. surely £10000 will pay the electric bill.Wakefield Bantam likes this. -

1pm makes getting there for KO from Shropshire an impossibility for me. I'm out.
