That is impressive no matter what level he's playing at, just imagine if we played to his strengths, and once in a while crossed a decent ball.

 

Being saying this for a while now. When Halliday takes them he seems to do quite quickly. But refs now seem to treat them as corners as soon it is obvious what the player is doing, when really should be whistle blowing and awarding yellows as with any other type of throw in elsewhere on the pitch if it continues.

 

When things aren't going well you're always going to get the odd fan making those kinds of claims, as you say Young was celebrating the goal with the rest of the squad, great to see that reaction as at times this season they've not looked to have that togetherness they had last season.

Exactly. He certainly wouldn't look as frustrated and fed up as he does now at times, although there are still some who insist it is because he is lazy and has given up trying now he has his 3 year deal. Absolute nonsense. The man lives to score goals so is it any wonder he looks p!ssed off when it isn't happening, and that's as much with himself as with his team mates. Yes he isn't in the same kind of form as he was last season, but he still has 14 goals across all competitions in February, and I wouldn't bet against him finishing the season with 20+.

 

Andy Cook will go down in our history as one of our best goalscorers. But he has never been in a good partnership unlike Hanson and others. His strength is finishing not linking with other players

I think Jake Young can play along side Andy Cook, I believe Young would have started yesterday if not for his ankle injury scare, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see that pairing Tuesday night.

 

I would love to see that. Get Chapman out wide and move Jake more central.

 

Football has changed now so Cook rarely plays with a partner and most teams favour one up top and two either side.

Hanson and Wells were playing at a time when some managers still clung onto 4-4-2 but it has died out in the game now hasn’t it.

 

I agree. When Hughes dropped him last season he came back with a point to prove and scored for fun once recalled.

I hope him getting dropped for a few games lately has the desired effect again.
