Harry Lewis Gone To Carlisle United

It’s poisonous Kevin,I’d be ashamed with myself for posting what some people put on.

 

Fully agree the melt down and some if the comments on Twitter have been absolutely disgracefull.

 

What's interesting is that the club made it known Lewis was available a little while ago. Either Lewis wanted out or the clubs been wanting to sell him prior to any out of the blue bid for him.

 

Wasn’t Barnsley meant to have been interested in the summer?

This mixture of both but can’t blame Lewis for wanting out really.

I thought Barnsley made an out of the blue bid, it’s was deemed insufficient , they upped it and that was also turned down. How did the club “ make it known” . Not sure Johnny ?

To sell our first team goalkeeper in his 20s and replace him with a journeyman in his 30s who has spent the bulk of his playing appearances at Colchester is nothing short of a disgrace.

All this shows is that we are completely devoid of any ambition to progress up the EFL and that we will sell any player for a bit of cash. We've effectively become a feeder club to the likes of Swindon and Carlisle whilst we fanny about in League Two year on year.

While clubs such as Carlisle are picking out specific targets, Bradford City are literally signing either whoever is being flogged to us unwanted by their clubs, been on the injury table for a quantity of time during their careers, has-beens, or who played alright in a Pizza cup game against us.

The fact Harry Lewis sees Carlisle as a more attractive and forward proposition than us is horrifying and says a lot about the state of our club at the moment.

The second top scorer in the league even sees Swindon as a more attractive place to play than us. Trains 5 minutes and doesn't want anything to do with us.

Even Cowley took a dig at us by saying he was impressed by Colchester's strategies and ambitions. Took one look at us/Sparks and ran a mile.

We have no strategy, no direction, and we are effectively run by hamsters in a wheel.

This once proud club is an absolute pathetic joke

It was very recent Johnny , two points in the article say that much.

“Simpson said he has long been an admirer of Lewis but the keeper’s availability only became clear in recent weeks.”

 

Deluded Derek, says league 2 is a 100 times better than the Scottish league, so I wouldn't be expecting much from the new keeper, who has not played this season.

Great post and absolutely spot on.
It’s a complete horror show at the moment and Sparks is having a nightmare. He should have gone after being found out for lying when Alexander was appointed.
Some of us had sympathy with Rupp for being taken in by Edin and having to mop up the financial mess that was left but he’s making the same mistake. Hes letting a man completely out of his depth and under qualified to run the club. It has to stop and it has to change.

 

I think many are missing the point, GA did n’t think Harry was good enough and why would he? He has been one of the worst performing L2 keepers this season. He would have been on the bench if we had a backup. Carlisle are hoping a restart will bring his last season’s form back. I hope it does but I would n’t bet on it. He’s done nothing this season to warrant a transfer fee. I think we may have seen the best of Harry. I’d expect GA to bring in another keeper probably in the summer.
Harry’s a lovely guy and a great team mate. I wish him all the best and genuinely hope he finds his confidence but to turn down a bid on the back of this season’s form would have been madness.

I think that's 2 out and 1 in. Hardly the "reducing the numbers" I was expecting.

 

Border, it doesn't work that way at City - there's always something happening that could alienate the fans and with total justification, but the next decent result gets us onside again, we stay with them, we buy season tickets and we live in hope that something good might happen.

We are basically gullible suckers who have no bloody choice, City is OUR club through thick and thin,and thin,and thin (repeat). But as I said in another post I don't really believe anything that comes out of our club anymore - our upper management is on the whole a shambles without vision or ambition

 

How was he found to be lying

 

Thats really bizarre! Impressive away followings when you were barely getting 5k at home in the promotion season and preceding season in L2. Even this year most home crowds have been 7k or so, with 10k + for three games.

Id that the jock day trippers all coming for away days swelling the numbers? Or maybe just the fact its close to Lancashire than elsewhere?

Its rare for away followings to be so big, relative to small home crowds.

Your owners need to see more through the gates to feel any benefit for your club though I guess. Even when you’re getting 10k you’re 8k short of capacity.

Anyway, I wish Lewis well. Good character and a good servant in his short spell here. Talented lad when he is on it but he needs to work on the mental side, something he was quite open about in the summer.
