Must admit when you look at the games in the premiership or championship it's hard not to cast an envious eye at what the two other west Yorkshire clubs fans will be getting next season. I get that we support our team whatever the weather argument. But jeez, I can even go back to the games in league one against Bolton and The Blades and remember looking forward all week to a right humdinger. And really, what game is there to look forward to in league 2? Stockport? Harrogate lol? Doesn't matter what bollocks our media department put out, garbage like own the moment etc. It's still league 2 no matter how you spin it, a trip to Solihull moors don't have the same appeal as a trip to pride park or Hillsborough.

What do you mean a trip to a new ground has no appeal? ;)

It may be the end for Ryan but would Rupp seriously consider if he needs to own our football club that he seems to have little interest in apart from it ticking over and being sustainable without any serious financial input from himself, I do have faith in Sparkie but then again I also thought Derek Adams would do a good job with his CV but as we know the past means nothing.

I was also optimistic last summer, I said the other day that every summer I come into the season with some optimism which usually is gone by November. Hopefully not this time but there’s no guarantee, I thought Rupp would sell at the earliest opportunity, but maybe the Americans didn’t get near his own valuation.

people forget this is only Ryan Sparks 2nd full season when he took the reigns we sitting in a relegation spot in financial trouble and we were shortly heading for a pandemic. Yes of course he presided over failure last season but I think he could have expected more from the manager he appointed. Off the field he and the staff he appointed seem to be doing more than well now we have to replicate this on the field this season let’s hope he can deliver

If previous rumours are to be believed Rupp wants silly money for an asset that has seen consistent decline under him

Like you I’ve been watching a chunk of other football, matches on sky as a neutral, really enjoyed Championship and L1, decent standard and plenty of effort, then you get the odd L2 game on there and it is truly dire in comparison with a massive drop in quality. Just not a very good standard and poor to watch. It’s a pale comparison, and we were no where in it, all this end of season excitement and we were all but done and dusted in January!

Can't disagree with you mate. I watched the playoff final yesterday and I thought the standard was generally poor. Theres just very little to get up for

League 2 definitely is dog dirt. I didn’t rate any of the teams in the league last season. I was another full of optimism in August but once it became obvious Adams wasn’t the man I did what you guys have mentioned - watched Prem and European footy and even took in three Man City games which was an altogether different experience!

Chomping at the bit to get back to VP next season though. After a summer away, even after a bad season, the slate is wiped clean.

it’s gonna be a long summer with no World Cup :-(

By the time the UEFA Nations League games are done we're well into June, pre-season just around the corner.

It'll be a long summer but if England and City do well then we'll have a right joyous few months full of footy before christmas

Not sure I'd be happy with an advertiser displaying another clubs badge on the hoarding. Swap the galvanised bucket for something a bit taller and move it a foot further up.

Hughes could turn out to be no more effective than Bryan Robson.

The whole football club needs to be firing on all cylinders, and there are good reasons to doubt that's the case - be that right now, or in the coming season.

The idea a Premier League manager can come to this club, operate in circumstances that have badly failed every decent manager that's come before (let's face it, we haven't been CLOSE to promotion from this division), and expect them to turn it round DOES sound like a fantasy.

The club is weak in areas. We shouldn't underestimate that now because Hughes is in charge.

The ideal would be an interested, exuberant owner with talent.
An interested, high-performing CEO with talent.
A manager with experience, knowledge, and talent.
A coaching staff with experience, knowledge, and talent.

What we know for sure is we have the latter two in place; what we don't know is that their skills will translate well to a full season with transfer windows. We know Hughes can coach a crap side, because we've seen him do it, so we can probably assume he can coach his OWN side that he's assembled.

But we're miles off being able to compete with other teams in terms of the owner or the CEO, and that for me is a massive worry.

What we don’t need is the ‘Rupp out’ murmurs carrying on in the background. We have to all buy into what Hughes is trying to achieve and stop any sort of distraction.

I’m sure Ryan will learn his lesson from last season and take more of a back seat this time.

Especially at home, that home record must improve if we are to win promotion.

If we fail next season then, yes, fan unrest will be justified, but let’s not kill our chance before we’ve started.

oh yes we do need these “Rupp out and Sparks out “murmurs in the background .

It’s all ways about next season this that and the other with some. Bottom line is Rupp and Sparks haven’t delivered and running out of time before fans lose their nut.
