Who'd be in Ryan's shoes, if Trueman is only in charge for the one game because Ryan gets his man in before the home game against Harrogate there will be many saying he has not done his home work on the new man.

It was meant in jest Bronco but as for Ryan’s shoes it’s a tough task and ideally he needs someone with more experience to lean on and support him (no Julian though!)

Interesting Broncs. Watched the Posh game last night, just like VP, booed off at the end and “We want Darragh out” chants from what I could make out. Big Rod is a bit of an expert on Posh, might comment.

There are few with more experience than Rhodes but I doubt he needs anybody all this about Ryan being to young and inexperienced he is only a few years younger than Mason who was a part time media presenter with Radio Leeds Ryan had experience with various clubs in Rugby League. Many CEOs don’t have experience when appointed including David Baldwin. It’s about due diligence and I am sure that will be done

There isn't a club in the world where the fans don't make some kind of a protest when things go wrong, we were seeing it with lower attendances and fans sharing their opinions on social media.
Oh for the days of the Pink on a Saturday evening to get the football results and I believe there was a page where you could air your views with regards the goings on at your club.

He'll be in charge long enough for us not to get a manager in in time to make any real difference to the squad, so that they can underperform and then be sacked this time next year having had plenty of time to make a difference.

Alternatively he'll be charge until this time next year when he himself will get the heave ho as there are fears about season ticket sales.

At least that seems to be Sparks' underlying strategy here.

Do you really think he's thought that far ahead? So rush an appointment so as not to appoint someone you've already fired from that position once.

That would almost be as if we're dancing (see what I did there @Fordy117@Fordy117) to a tune of someone protecting their own arse as opposed to protecting the best interests of the playing side of the club.

    Surely not?

    And they'd be right.

Option (1) rush appointment - anyone available please come and help. Please, pretty please.
Option (2) wait and take more time leaving another manager without sufficient time to assess and mould a squad according to their preferred playing approach. Sack them next year when it likely goes pear shaped once more?

Do either option sound like a considered approach to footballing success?

    It's carry on football club.

Don't worry though people are distracted enough by the who will it be to perhaps buy a season ticket (which they likely would have bought anyhow despite protestations).

You would think 2 weeks is a reasonable timeframe.
Week 1 - initial round of interviews
Week 2 - Narrow it down to 2/3 options and then multiple interviews until Sparks/Rupp in agreement

Only other spanner in the works could be agreeing terms with Halifax for Wild as he has another year left on his contract.

Presumably Sparks will already have a head start as he will have spoken to lots of Managers in the last 12 months or so.

If the candidate he is wanting to bring in is employed at another club at the moment there will be compo involved I'd think, the club he's employed at won't be rushing to let him go especially if he's doing a good job which would be the reason Ryan was after him.

Ryan is going to employ a manager that must of us don’t want because all he does is listen to the Peterborough chairman.

Two weeks isn’t long enough, do you think large businesses recruit senior managers in two weeks. Get real.

Applications always have a closing date usually 7-14 days.
    Applications sifted say 48 hours
    Invites for interviews 7 days
    Interview process 7 days.
Decision and contract negotiations 7 days.

Some of these can run concurrently but a fortnight is rushed .

Yes, I’ve done this processes many many times over the years, rush and get it wrong is asking for trouble.

I think what Ryan would respectfully say is that he's learnt what he can from Julian. I know Julian is often derided on here but Ryan would have learnt from him.

What Ryan needs to be thinking of now is how to move the football side of things forwards, does he need to bring in someone to buffer between him and the first team manager? Can a first team manager coach the team and do all the performance analysis and fitness and really keep their eye on everything?

He is probably learning things as he's going along a bit too much. I hope he's got a couple of peers that he can tap into to bounce ideas off.

Its different in football circles though - not typical business.

Watford appoint within 48 hours - they are extreme, but I don't think two weeks will be far off.

Sparks has said we haven’t given up on this season. Does he truly believe that? If so, a new man should be in place not too long after Harrogate game as we’ve only 15 or so games remaining!

The board will have been thinking about replacements before they pulled the trigger?

You'd think so wouldn't you. Sparks did say something last night along the lines of him and Stefan have been discussing the Adams situation for a few weeks, so you would hope that will have included some talk about where we go next.
