I stand corrected on my later comments, thanks @wetherbywhaler. Perhaps Ken, as a serious business man, just didn't like the way "Two Bob" Martin did things. Most of our age will remember that he wanted to change the club name to Bradford Metro in 1974 when the new authority was started.

Great to have a further sponsorship deal at the club. Fair play to all concerned in making it happen.

We do seem to be making a conscious decision to have local companies entwined in the club.

Never beaten Avenue 5 nil for ages Donny always batter us and now Morrisons are selling pies and socks and undercrackers......and sponsoring us too .... things are on the up and up at my club I can feel it rumbling...... I bet we would even beat Harrogate now pre-season.

A bit too young to remember the Bradford Metro thing first hand but my brother-in-laws family were friends with Bob Martin.
As I understand it Bob (who had a place out in Florida) was very impressed with the NSL and wanted to re-brand City in the same way as the teams in the US.
I'm not sure if I got this right but didn't he also want to merge us and Avenue and move to a new venue?

When a business is sold, the buyer takes on the assets and the liabilities. An existing contract to pay money to a 3rd party (ie City) would be a liability passed onto the buyer to uphold.

When Morrison's bought Safeway in Scotland, they took over the responsibility of sponsoring the Scottish national football team on this basis and then did not renew the deal when it came to an end.

 

For the duration of , I believe so yes.
