It would have been a massive gamble @Wolfysmith but you can see why Bob Martin considered it. At the time of 1974 City’s crowds were very low around the 3,500 mark and the football public of Bradford were split with a lot of the Avenue fans really hating us and wanting nothing to do with us. Some went to Leeds a lot went Bradford Northern but we did get some followers from Avenue. Martin felt that playing at Avenue with a new name of Bradford Metro would get the Avenue fans all on board and that City’s followers who were dwindling anyway would follow across the City. Wether it would have worked is debatable, would Avenue followers go back to Park Avenue to follow what would essentially be the City team with a different name? Would Citys followers have gone across the City to watch their team playing at Park Avenue? A huge gamble and history could have been so different.

 

It's the first thing your commercial manager gets the start of every financial year. Next year they will be looking to beat this year's target and so on.

I was in my local Morrison's yesterday (Five Lane Ends) but didn't see any merchandise on sale.
Has anyone seen any stock in others stores as of yet ?

 

no, nothing in Mayo Ave yet either. Probably still working out the logistics of it all. I wonder if it will be a staffed city pop up shop, A concessions letting in the buildings similar to timpsons, eyewear etc, or if we will just have a few shirts in there small clothing aisles?

 

Have you tried looking in the freezers next to the fish fingers..?

 

That wouldn't surprise me, Morrisons seems to the worst of the lot for random product placements

 

Does anyone know when City merchandise will be available in Morrisons I haven't seen anything yet

We have a two year deal so I would have thought we'd be as keen to get City stock into Morrisons stores as quickly as we installed the Morrisons branding on the main stand

Not moaning and if it's already in stores where can I go look

 

Nothing in my local branch just lots of empty shelves and huge price increases
