Was saying this at half time, i was ridiculed by some around me. You guessed it, humble pie for all those around me at the end. I said ages ago this had McCalls second season written all over it and thats exactly whats happening. That today ranks as one of the most painful performances i've had to endure, not one solitary positive came out of that today, not one. 90 minutes of humiliation after 45 minutes of it against Scunthorpe.

The fans backed him before kick off but it took a mere 10 minutes for that to disappear. Today for me was his defining game, a chance to right the wrongs of the past few weeks and get the ship back on track against the worst form team in the division. And he failed. Not one solitary shot on target against a team with 1 win in 13 and no clean sheet in 8. Sorry, he's done, pack your bags and clear your drawers. And for all the apologists crying 'but who would we put in'? I don't f*cking care, you could let the lads manage themselves, cos lets face it, thats what that shambles looked like today. I supported Bowyer and honestly thought once he got his full fit squad back he would get us back up and running, but he looked clueless today.

I don't think it was that McCartan wasn't the answer today, it was playing head tennis and hoof ball that wasn't the answer. That was never going to work for Shay and Doyle who need the ball played to their feet, and don't even get me started on waiting until the 76th minute before bringing Donaldson on, might as well not have bothered by that point.
