If..Doyle goes big mistake

I’ve seen no evidence that Doyle is CURRENTLY being paid £5k a week, so I cannot answer. Besides, you suggested THREE players for the wages he’s being paid....!

 

He is definitely on a figure around 5k. One permanent and two loans is more than possible with that money.

And I think you’ll find that good, quality players tend to be on more than £1700 a week. So three players to be paid out of any savings made by releasing Doyle is just folly.

Is he still? Some had clauses in their contracts if we got relegated. I still reckon he will be on a good wedge but maybe not as high as 5k?

 

Think he was on 6k last year so he'll be on somewhere in the 4.5-5k mark this year with a 25℅ decrease.

 

You're right, quality players do cost more than £1700 a week, so its a good job with loans you only have to pay a percentage of their wage.

Payne was an extraordinary deal initially arranged by one clueless idiot in Edin to pay him 5k a week and then another clueless idiot in Hopkin to pay him 10k. That sort of deal won't happen on Bowyer's watch.

 

Doyle is a good player and a good striker, but unfortunately on far too much money for us to be able to realistically afford for him to warm the bench most of the time, so I agree with the general idea that if we could offload him, it would benefit us more to bring in a permanent player, probably a CM and maybe a loan winger and striker that would be more suited to an impact sub, something Doyle isn't?

 

When was the last time that happened?
