We sold Wyke, for profit. It just shows the germans are in this for short term profit. make a quick buck.
We should be trying to get promoted , not selling anyone and everyone

That article should be compulsive reading for our owners and players. I am pretty sure David Hopkin gets it, and I have faith in him to restore those values talked about in that article, however, it is going to take time and patience required by fans

The feeling of being robbed is exactly how I feel. It is like having all your memories and how you feel about City dumped in the dustbin. You just get the impression you no longer matter, we as a group of fans no longer matter. There will be concern about the fans disconnect, but only in terms of the amount of revenue they can generate and consequently their investment going down the pan. What also concerns me is the fact that a number of fans view that it is the owners club, and they can do what they like, including the fans money!

Yes of course they paid the previous owner, so they could take over the running of the club and make money, but as far as I am aware not another penny has come from the owners pocket for investment.

It is like ordering a product online, you have ordered this product many times and like it, only to get down to pick it up to find it has completely changed, it no longer looks like the product you are used, you complain about this, but nothing happen, you more or less get told to take it or leave it. Plus their is no trading standards to help you either.

I think the article is very well written and as others have said sums up the feelings of the majority of the fans who attend the games week in, week out. A very sad state of affairs which I don't see changing in the very near future.

I agree with you 100% Jay. I think Edin wants a feeder club that has moderate success that he can use to bring in players and sell on for profit.

I want Bradford City to have more success than that because of my love for the club.

My first Bradford game was Swindon town 1998 when we beat them 3 nil. I remember my first time in Valley Parade, it was such a magical moment that I knew I'd be hooked with the city bug for life.

But I feel that we really have stumbled into dark times. I honestly don't think Edin has the love for the club that we have and that's why I'm firmly in the Edin Out camp at the moment.

I hope to see great results on the pitch, but it'll take a lot now for me to trust Edin Rahic again, literally a miracle.

We've seen miracles as Bradford City fans, but I don't see a miracle with Edin.

These are dark times and even if we do get success this season with Hopkin, Edin has done so much damage that him as an individual, I wouldn't have a pint with him.

Overall an excellent article, thanks for sharing @Onside@Onside

Yes I agree but there was no way we could have kept Wyke. That is the reality of being a lower division club with players who want to leave. Its no different to previous ownerships. Accept this fact however unpalatable, and life is a bit happier

My first game was sometime in 1992/1993 I remember standing in the old kop and not being able to see anything, sitting on those metal poles people would lean on, then had a season ticket 97/98.

I remember when we were in the PL like it was yesterday.

and i can remember when we where about 6 points from getting relegated to the conference , beating Stockport county when Taylor was in charge,

anyway rahic now has a feeder club. Lets just we dont go down this year

I do really think the football league need to start to vet potential new owners into there background etc before they are allowed to take over a club ...there are so many horror stories up and down the league's.

How would any vetting have predicted how Rahic would have turned out to be. Afterall, as far as I am aware, he has never done anything illegal, personally or at our football club?

The defining moment for me whilst supporting City was the McCall Hendrie era when I found myself watching our team play a standard of football I had never witnessed before. We had a "team" and although the above were leading lights the rest were all essential cogs in the wheel.

This was followed by promotion to the premiership and then realisation dawned on me.

We are Bradford City,we CAN achieve our dreams and we CAN again. As a kid I thought we were always destined to be lower league as though there were some unwritten law.

This dream, which I hope to witness again, won't happen when someone takes charge and decides we should be a feeder club as that destroys the "CAN" part of the dream. It demonstrates the disconnect between the fans and what they want and an owner who is only interested in profit.

My suggestion to Mr Rahic is sell City to someone who cares about our club and loves the game and buy yourself a business that you can make money.

The apology was welcome but your philosophy is not.

It’s likr last week, when it just dawned on me that we’re wearing German colours. Obviously we’re just a project for Edin. He doesn’t give a toss about us or our history. Maybe he’d get a little bit more leeway if he was building a successful “brand”, but he’s not even getting that right!

Like every other club at this level then, Peterborough sold their main man in the summer and barely re invested half of it. But they got a good management team in and brought in the right players. The owners have a lot to answer for but not this in the slightest, as every club out side the big few are in the exact same boat.
