I was going to write that I suspect Hughes will be tweaking this system with a bit more width. And that's shown in the team chosen.

 

Back to the 4 2 3 1 shape though that didn't work for a long spell and I can't see how 1 signing changes that.

It wasn't working. The last two away performances before he changed it we had a total of 2 shots on target and only one real, big chance. That's why he changed it imo

 

Seriously hope I'm wrong but this today stank of he has to start.

 

It very much looked that way yesterday, as someone has posted he hardly had time to know get to know his fellow team mates or be involved in training etc, Hughes must have thought he was better than those on the bench.

 

Was unfair to start him, He looked totally out of his depth, The blame must go to Hughes who looks poorer and poorer with his management, We look to be doing no more than treading water under him

 

No disrespect to the young lad, but why is he starting in place of player who has 16 goals to his name and whose goals are the primary reason we find ourselves in the playoffs? Whatever fans think of the pros and cons of Andy Cook, to not pick him while we need goals is just bewildering.

 

Whilst I agree with you, it's easy to say in hindsight.

Had he scored the winner on debut we'd have been lauding it as a genius decision.

 

Whilst I'm never usually one for singling out players, this was an(other) awful, perhaps even shameful performance today. And not for the first time.

Today he gave the ball away far too many times, never wins a header, never tracks back, poor body language, lack of attitude and effort off the ball, lack of movement, and worst of all he couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo on it when chances are presented to him, often on a plate.

He should have been hoisted off in the first half, never mind the 89th minute.

One must wonder if he has a clause in his loan deal that means he must play a certain amount of games because there are far better players on the bench that are not getting a sniff because this lad can't seem to be dropped.

Probably the worst player i've seen in a City shirt this season.

 

I don't know what arrangement we have with Burnley over his loan but I'm sorry, I think we should terminate it if we can. Let one of our own players have the shirt.

 

I thought it wouldn’t take long before someone brought up the loan clause myth that players have to play. No manager worth his salt would accept that, only McCall because he’s an awful manager

 

Don't particularly like slating young players, but enough is enough now. He needs dropping to bench. Hopefully Derbyshire will be back for the run-in and stays fit.

 

He had a shocker for sure. Missed an early sitter and just went from bad to worse. Confidence shot to pieces so really hope MH sees sense and pulls him out for Tues

 

Cookes dad will be giving you some stick tonight mate, great build up from Hartlepool across our box and an even better strike from Callum.

 

Has had enough games to make a difference but sadly is not one of Hughes' better loan signings.

Haha I've already had it. To be fair he played 90 minutes today, I'm guessing against anyone else he'd have gone off around 60 minutes. Him and Kemp both played well. He did mention that Kemp was a good player.

 

Didn’t Parkinson have a couple, or maybe the ones I’m think of are pre Parkinson

 

Should be making the keeper at least save the shots today. Time for him to have a break based on todays lethargic performance.

 

He seems to link up well with Cook.. but theres no end product.. how long before Derbyshire is back ?
