That EFL statement is about as clear as mud really.

Whilst it states the FL season will resume on tuesday it isnt very indicative about the program as a whole at the weekend is it? Can anyone confidently say at this moment we will be playing?

Treating things on a game by game basis and at police conveniences isnt very assuring for all.

We have seen how the Scottish Police managed to swerve an Influx of Italian fans, wouldnt bet against a few surprises between now and saturday

 

Surely that is just wording to apply to games that were due to take place in and around the capital. Brighton have postponed their game with Crystal Palace due to the police presence which is usually required. I notice 2 Premier League games are schedule for Friday night aswell which is highly unusual.

Chelsea are at home to Liverpool on the Sunday, the day before the funeral when I guess London will see many heading to the capital so these are the kind of games the police might push to postpone.

 

Btw hasn't the Rangers game just been put back a day, not postponed outright. They are playing Wednesday instead of Tuesday which no doubt would cause havoc with anyone wanting to attend.

Fwiw the Brighton v Palace game was postponed due to planned rail strikes - that one wasn’t due to policing reasons.

One thing you maybe forgetting? We had a well manned , well funded police force in those days as opposed to the skeleton service we have these days. Other than seeing patrol cars and plain clothes speeding trap vans , I haven’t seen a policeman on foot patrol in a town or City centre for about 10 years. I’m not joking. There is plenty of opportunity to have football around the events, it’s not too difficult to organise around the funeral in truth.

 

Only three PL games have been called off:
Man United Vs Leeds
Chelsea vs Liverpool
Brighton vs Palace

All the others are on so I imagine that our game will be on too.
