Strikes me as absurd that Football should be cancelled over the whole weekend when the vast majority of other major sporting events have gone ahead.

My personal view is that ALL Sport should have been cancelled on Friday and the day of the funeral.

Furthermore, Cinemas, Theatres, Concert venues and all other venues where there are Paying customers.

Places such as Restaurant’s, Pubs, Clubs, could be encouraged to close.

Should weddings in Church of England and other religious venues have gone ahead.

I assume that all ‘Bookmakers’ will have closed?

More of a grey area is shops, supermarkets, filling stations, and all forms of public transport.

On a lighter note, then in particular I hope that Morrison’s @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler , Car washes @Fordy117@Fordy117 and …..Er The Ling Bob @Ulysses S Grant@Ulysses S Grant have all been closed during these times and more! ;)

You are failing to understand that government are not going to support businesses and industries to have allowed that to happen.

My car wash is staying open!

I thought Professional Football was a Business, or am I missing something?

My view is that all spectator sports should be treated equally.

Postponement, as a ‘mark of respect’ should be across the board and not one sport singled out for different treatment.

    All or nothing.

I played in a friendly today and we’re getting in quite a lot of trouble for it by the sounds of things (from the league and FA).

It’s frankly ridiculous that football has been postponed, particularly at grassroots level.

Everyone who took part should be charged with treason IMO.

Tbf the Tower of London was open for business as usual today. Only costs 30 mark of respect tokens to get in.

£30 sounds like a bargain to watch the treasonous hoardes being hung for their disrespect!

Yes it is business but rich one.

As stated to make it across the board the government would have to pay for loss of earnings.

So, they should say we suggest you close but it’s up to you. That covers them.

    Rod,
I don't have any working connections with Morrisons and have not had since I retired at the end of Jan, 2009.
The only contacts I have are either verbal or twice when as sponsors, a group from Morrisons were Boardroom guests last season. The only person I knew then was their CEO.

If the FA issued a directive that no teams were to play then they will have broken that.

Fining them just takes money out of grassroots football, something they allegedly are in business to promote. Let them get on with it if they want to be so idiotic.

don’t know but the fact that all football seems to have stopped would Imply it was a directive otherwise some clubs would have carried on
