I also fully agree with this regarding VP 100% but it's frustrating that our lack of any other viable options leaves us at huge disadvantage towards negotiating any new lease terms. As to Gibb being up for selling the ground back to us if the terms were right, I maybe wrong but I don't think it would be his decision to make it would be a vote/decision from the pension fund members and I can't ever see them wanting out of a solid lucrative income/investment. Hope I'm totally wrong and there is a possibility for us to own VP again somehow.

I think it would be the trustees rather than the members

It would be the decision of the trustees. However, the nature of the FLPF is such that there can be no more than 11 members. There isn't therefore a lot of difference between the members and the trustees. This is a pension fund for owners and directors of Flamingo Land who are by and large members of the Gibb family. I suspect that if Gordon Gibb whether as a member or a trustee, chose to sell VP, at the right price, the deal would go through.

Why is this being resurrected now. Have there been recent suggestions of City moving to Odsal?

When the time is right, and with the right owner/investors I would favour buying back Valley Parade, then bringing the stadium back up to date and even developing it. A new stand linking the main stand with the Midland Road stand (although the road behind A block is an issue). Certainly a new stand at the Bradford End and even a second tier on the Midland Road stand, there are options, they just require cash investment and the will to do it.
In the past various people have said that the location is problem, I don't see it that way. Football Special buses could be introduced from the Interchange/City Center along Maningham Lane or Midland Road. We have a railway running alongside that connects us with the Aire and Wharfe Valley and also L***s and beyond. Even if a small halt wasn't built outside the ground a walkway from Forster Square Station could be put down. A pedestrian bridge across the railway from outside the ground linking us with Valley Road is long overdue.
25,000 is ample at the moment but even in the Championship (I haven't had a drink yet, honest) that probably wouldn't be enough, especially with away demand. A capacity of 30,000/32,000 would be enough and is doable, like I said with the cash and will to do it. Even Geoffrey Richmand BEFORE his brainstorm was talking about a capacity of 36,000.

Nothing is ever an impossibility but I'd say in my lifetime we'll never see any more redevelopment in terms of adding to the capacity.

Not necessarily. I would happily move the Bulls down to Valley Parade if along with that we got back the ground and had it redeveloped.

I think Geoffrey's plans had development opportunity for a North East Corner and another tier on the Midland Road.

Me too Rog. I was just putting it out there as a mid to long term option. I felt that years ago Bradford Council should have probably moved the Bulls down to Valley Parade. They could raised a lot of cash by selling off the tipping rights to Odsal and eventually sold off the land.

Buy the houses behind the Bradford End and build a new stand and the Bulls HQ here. Surely enough cash from selling Odsal to do this and much more. The council should buy VP and rent it to City and The Bulls.

We don’t need to extend the ground it’s big enough. Just keep or get into good order

Agree. No sense in expanding VP when we will only ever fill it in the PL.

Odsal is a cesspit and needs filling in. Can never see us moving there. More chance of the Bulls going bust and the land being sold to another developer for non-sport use.

Don't know if been mentioned but bulls had a supporters forum last night

One of the things mentioned was a new stadium involving the council and rfl

Not too much info but the rfl would move headquarters there and would be big enough to hold semi finals , finals and international games

Either on odsal site or move to dunnies

Yes we've heard it all before ....

    Some info in T&A

The last I heard about Richard Dunn's the council were making it a listed building, in other words allowing it to rot, the outsides looking in poor nick already.
