My point being; none of those are ACTUAL right backs whose favoured position is right back and who want to make a career playing right back.

Hendrie is the best fit. Finn tries hard but he's probably a centre back and Threlkeld has been awful.

 

Youngs best position is left wing but can play on the right or 10 he’s not going to play upfront on his own

 

Centre back, centre midfielder, perriera and at a push right back if budget stretches do think we need better than hendrie but I’m welcome to more of the budget been spent elsewhere! Can’t see another striker coming in unless cook leaves think hughes will play 1 upfront

as we saw at the end of last season, Hughes relies on a player in the mould of Watt to make the team tick. Hughes was also starting to get the best out of Watt an it showed how pivotal to the team Watt was when Evans stepped in for him for the Colchester Game. So if we don’t manage to re-sign him, I do hope we get a top quality replacement

 

I think you’ve probably articulated it for me better there. Harratt has promise, Young has promise, Cook and Angol both have their strengths but I still worry we have enough goals to make the difference between nearly and actually achieving.
It needs someone out of those to have the season of their lives.

Many people have said that the team looks weaker. But on paper, It appears that we have upgraded In many areas. The attacking side looks a lot more energetic an mobile, despite the fact that we are 2 players shorter in that department. Same Can be said in regards to the midfield as Evans’ legs had gone an Daly was ineffective. Watt will most likely go but Im sure Hughes has a solid replacement in mind.

Defence is the main concern, A solid replacement for Paudie. Someone who’s attributes can pair up well with Platt’s. As I assume Platt will be a regular starter here. Songo’o was one of the better performers under Hughes, But I feel as if he may not be overly deployed as a CB too much this season

 

Agree-as it stands the playing squad is stronger and more mobile that last seasons. Shipping out old tired legs and getting young energetic legs in. It's Ok having experience but if you cannot affect a game cos your legs have gone then you are no use to the team on the pitch.

Looking forward to watching a more mobile and energetic City this season. All the hallmarks of being an exciting rollercoaster season.

As for the argument that we lack experience in the squad we don't really. Two of the signings have just experienced a promotion, we have Doyle and Songo'o and Ridealgh. We do need a Jonesy style CM that can take hold of the game that is for sure. And a CB that takes no prisoners. If (hopefully) Threlkeld goes then we need a replacement there as well.

Odasebe is Evans replacement...utility CM type. East is Watts replacement. It was even suggested so by the T&A when announced.

 

I’d be surprised if he hasn’t. However Smallwood of the two.

 

His deadline has passed and our offer remains on the table so we can claim compo.

Looks like weve moved on with 2 CMs signed and another strongly rumoured to be incoming.

 

The talk of Smallwood is fanciful he is 31 and is coming from the championship he will have interest higher up. He would be a good signing but unlikely
