Adams is complicit in everything. Especially his inability to make effective substitutions !

The uncomfortable truth for Adams supporters is that we all, collectively, as City fans want(ed) Adams to succeed long-term and to give us that stability and Parkinson-esque durability that we all crave so much.

The reality is Adams is doing absolutely nothing results-wise to suggest we should have any confidence in him, and he's coming across as not a very likable character, both from a supporters and players viewpoint.

None of us wanted to turn on a manager so soon, unless the results were disastrous, and our season so far almost at the mid-point is literally disastrous.

Adams needs to leave, and we need to go again, and I'm 100% sure whoever takes over will have more wins over the next 21 games than Adams has.

Out of every cup by November and 12th in the league in December is disastrous relative to our pre-season ambitions and goals, yes.

Disaster is an often over used word. In our case, disaster (football wise) would be where we were this time last season. It's piss poor by any stretch of the imagination, but it's not a disaster until it can't be recovered and we go down. Even third bottom would not be a disaster as it would keep us in this division.

Which makes it a strange decision to give T&S extended contracts then removed them, I believe in an interview Ryan said they were not on big money, so maybe helped finacialy when he replaced them.
Id think Ryan was certain Adams would come hence T&S no longer required.

A good summary @knaresborough bantam@knaresborough bantam we had few forward thinking owners like Harry Reynolds
Albert Morris, Percy Woodward, Manny Cussins, Leslie Silver, Bill Fotherby, or the likes of Bob Lord at Burnley.

As long as that ambition is met with good finacial sense, look where chasing the promised land ended us similar at Leeds and many more, and not alway big clubs.
We keep getting told about the spending power at Stockport, Wrexham, Chesterfield, Notts County etc lets wait and see when the clubs who miss out this season will the owners continue to finance future big money signing.

Phil Parkinson was brought in to keep us in the Football League which ultimately he did but it was far from easy many doubting he would succeed.
I'd prefer promotion this season but if its a matter of promotion next season giving Adams chance to recruit his type of player I'll wait as I don't believe his sacking is the answer.

    strange decision = Ryan Sparks
give stuart a contract then bin him = strange decision
employ a head of recruitment, wax lyrical about him then after 2 transfer windows bow down to the new gaffer and remove HOR. = strange decision

I agree Dave. Though it has been a shit show of late on many fronts, we must try and resist our club's default of sacking manager after manager and allow Adams time to work on things and build. I have absolute sympathy with everyone on here who kinda feel cheated by where we are, how we've been performing, after what we've been promised. What hasn't helped I guess, is that Adams is not the warmest or most likeable of managers. He doesn't give a crap about who he offends, which in many ways can be a good thing, and seems only interested in one thing, getting three points. So of course the problem we all have with him right now is that, Derek mate, for all your tunnel vision.... you ain't delivered us many three points thus far! BUT I still think we should stick with him. See what he can achieve with his new scouting system re January signings and where that takes us. One thing's for sure - the bloody players, with honourable exceptions, have to start turning up and THINKING HARDER! We have so many periods in games where it becomes headless chicken time and none of our players seem to know how to get a hold on the matches.

I have it on very good authority, almost from the horses mouth, that there was at least one other manager spoken to 12m ago.

After 19 games last season we had 20 points and sat in 18th position, 6pts off play offs, 7pts off relegation.

Today we are four points and six places better off but still 6pts away from the play off and 9 off the relegation spots.

Got to the second round of the FA Cup last season and knocked out of the League Cup and LDV Cup at the first opportunity.

I’ll be honest, we’re not a whole much better position than last season.

That lad at Halifax,. Pete Wild is doing a good job, three points of the top. Must be something in the name with Wild in it at Halifax as Chris Wilder did OK eh, City never look at young up and coming managers in the lower leagues. It's something other clubs do but never us.

Been calling this lad out over the last season and a half. Very impressed by him at Oldham following the Scholes debacle.

But it's not his time at City. Adams stays for me

Wonder how many of the Folk who wanted Adams probably said the same regarding Parky ????
Adams has raked in 23 points from his 1st 19 games
Parkinson pulled in 21 points from his first 19

the common factor is both managers are trying to get out of mess created by others :(

is Adams now a bad manager considering his record before he came here ????
Get him out all you want but nothing will change a new man may get a tune for a few weeks but it will revert back to the crap we have had to put up for years ................I would give him till at least this time next year if we are in the same boat then he is accountable and the Turnbull factor would be completely out of the window ............... frankly until somebody from the club can confirm what role Turnbull really played then in a nutshell your all guessing at it

I think the important difference between Parkinson and Adams is that the latter comes across as a dislikeable character, who appears to have little rapport with the fans and, I suspect, the majority of the playing squad. Consequently, the fans showed more patience with Parky.

Regardless of whether Sparks wants to persist with him, if these results continue, it's only a matter of time before the crowd turns and, in that outcome Adams is toast. To help him through this tough patch, Derek needs the support of the fans and he'll only have himself to blame if his cold, indifferent manner has alienated himself from the very people who can save him.

I think you've overstated Phil Parkinson's first 19 league matches. He was apppointed on 28 August 2011 and his first 19 league matches produced just 18 points. And you've understated Derek Adams points total, which is 24 points.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing Petrov, but season after season we hear how can anyone get a tune out of these players......yet immediately they leave they go on to have decent careers elsewhere. What is our problem? I wish I knew. Last nights team obviously have some ability because not for the first time they seemingly were by far the best team in the first half. So to my eye the manager takes some of the blame if he can't either motivate them to keep up the momentum or tweak the shape to adjust to the oppositions changes in tactics or personnel. I do however accept the strength of our bench limits his options
